Overview
About Me
Hi there! My name's Matt/Matty/Matthew. I'm currently a resident doctor specializing in psychiatry, working in Toronto, Canada. Outside of work, I take every opportunity to explore countries that are entirely different from my own, so I can challenge all the assumptions I've ever had.
I love solo backpacking (China, India, Costa Rica, South Africa, Israel, Palestine), and have traveled to other places, such as Vietnam, Cambodia, Japan, Italy, Kenya, Tanzania, and multiple places in Canada and the U.S. Looking forward to continuing the trend of getting into weird, unexpected, funny situations abroad, and coming back with an expanded consciousness.
I'm into trekking, climbing, biking, photography, videography, and spontaneous shit. In the last while I've been also festival hunting and discovered Burning Man. Since then I've also been to AfrikaBurn in South Africa and Where the Sheep Sleep in Holland. Looking forward to exploring more burns in Spain, Israel, Australia, New Zealand and China in the future!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I've always wanted to couchsurf. There's no better way of understanding a culture than through the local eye. Previously I've stayed in hostels which has always been awesome, but I'm excited to break my couchsurfing-virginity.
