ABOUT ME

Serious travel addiction. It all started several years ago with a gap year through Asia. I traveled extensively throughout Southeast Asia and the Far East, but in general I am quite happy all over the world. In my travels I prefer to deeply immerse myself in different cultures instead of just scratching the surfaces of as many places as possible. For instance I spent almost a year in the tiniest villages of China and it was one of the most amazing times I ever had. Professionally I am a scientist, but currently I am enjoying another year on the road (or two). Besides traveling, I like hiking, climbing, diving and simply being outside in nature. I am also very interested in photography...

Traveling, hiking, climbing, running, photography, Chinese language, music, guitar. I also picked up some beer brewing skills - the German and scientist in me;)

Music, Movies, and Books

Movies: Comedies, dramas and psycho thrillers. Not so much into action and horror.

Music: I am pretty open to all kinds of music, but in general the louder the guitars the happier I am.

Books: I read quite a lot. Non-fiction and fiction, A to Z. However, I prefer real paper, and just can't get used to reading on a tablet, which is a shame for traveling:(

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

A few years back, I crossed East Timor on foot - that was a truly amazing experience!
