Overview
About Me
I'm a young musician from the UK currently living and working in Dresden and trying to make my way in the world. I'm always up for meeting new people and sharing experiences and conversation. I think the best way to learn "About Me" is to read the rest of this page and then talk to me!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I've been on CS for a long time and had lots of good experiences. The last few years have been more difficult because of flat-sharing and having a very small room without much space to host, but not I have a new place and space for guests.
Other than hosting and surfing, in my first year in Germany I got very into the CS meet-ups, and organised a few events (BBQs, Rollerskating etc.) in Ingolstadt.
Interests
I love music and food. Without either I wouldn't be me at all. I'm a flute player and conductor and do mostly classical stuff, but also play theatre music, musicals etc.
I read as much as I can, which is sadly not enough, but will give anything I can get my hands on a go. I'm currently working my way through a load of "classics" in various languages and sociology/philosophy books. Also love cycling and travelling.

Music, Movies, and Books
I like most types of music. I'm currently very into Seth Lakeman, JS Bach, Jacques Loussier, Flook, Plain White Ts, Rhett Miller, Nielsen, Sibelius and Vaughan Williams, Mahler, Jamiroquai...eclectic I know.
I love Billy Elliot, and classic RomComs, although there are some really rubbish ones now. I think generally I like films that make you think about things, Donnie Darko and the Butterfly Effect are good for that, as are El Mar Adentro, Inception and Melinda and Melinda, although in totally different ways.
Books wise I like lots of things. To Kill a Mockingbird, Maurice, Atonement, Das Parfum and The Life of Pi are probably up there with my faves though. Love EM Forster too.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Travelling around California in a minivan with 6 other guys staying on peoples sofas was also amazing! We got stranded because of a volcano in Iceland, but the people there were so kind to us and we easily found places to stay for an extra week. It was wonderful.
Teach, Learn, Share
Music is my speciality so ask me anything about Music!
I want to learn more about Food, and cooking. I'm pretty good and will happily make you a nice meal if I'm hosting you or surfing with you, but I want to really learn proper cooking techniques and experience all the world's foods!
I love sharing languages; communication is the most incredible thing. Last year I was pretty focussed on German, and I'm pretty confident with it now. My French and Spanish are getting pretty rusty though, and I'm trying to teach myself Italian, so any help would be greatly appreciated.
What I Can Share with Hosts
A bed and hopefully nice food/beer/wine and interesting conversation.
