I’m Mehmet, an electrical engineering lecturer from Türkiye. I love traveling, meeting people from different cultures and sharing stories about life, science and the world. I hosted many travelers in Istanbul when I lived there, and Couchsurfing became one of my favorite ways to connect with people. I’m grateful to have around 30 references from previous Couchsurfing experiences.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

For me Couchsurfing is not about a free place to stay. It’s about meeting people, sharing cultures and seeing a city through the eyes of locals. Some of my best travel memories come from long conversations with hosts and other travelers.
