Overview
About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Enjoy each day of my life, travel the world, and meet people along the way.
ABOUT ME
I am retired, single, fit, outgoing man who enjoys interesting people and places. I am embarked on an adventure discovering how to enjoy life in various countries and cultures as long as I can. Travel, beauty, color, music, friends, and family are important to me.
PHILOSOPHY
Live a good life, love when possible, cause harm to no one. Life is too short to drink bad wine and eat enough dark chocolate.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I find it a unique and attractive idea and have used CS during my travels. I am offering a spare bedroom in my home near San Francisco, California. There is easy access by car or public transit to all of the San Francisco Bay Area.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I have CS'd in Norway and Spain during a 3 month sojourn in Spain last year. All were excellent experiences resulting in new friends and in one case, appreciation for a new wine, the tasty garnacha grape of Calatayud. My home is open to CSrs.
Interests
Traveling, sailing, biking, winetasting, cards, interesting food, taiko drumming, yoga, raising and training a Guide Dog for the Blind.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I've seen a group of strangers come together to build a house, participated in delivering 2 marvelous babies, soaked in hot tubs overlooking the Pacific Ocean at Esalen under a full moon, watched the sun come up from the summit of Mount Whitney, watched bears grabbing salmon from rivers in Alaska, sailed under the Golden Gate bridge. There are lots of amazing things in this world, if you happen to be there.
Teach, Learn, Share
I have participated and learned from a wide range of experiences from building houses with Habitat for Humanity and preparing families for ownership to backpacking, snow-camping, sailing, teaching English in Japan, yoga, and tai-chi.
