ABOUT ME

I've lived all over the US and in 4 other countries on 3 continents. The most important thing to me in all of those places has been the people I've met. I will be in south central France this year teaching English, and I'd be happy to meet you if you're passing through.

Always sober, never serious. I'm not the bar-hopping/partying type, but that hasn't stopped me from having a good time.

PHILOSOPHY

If you can help someone else without hurting yourself, there is no reason not to.

I usually stick to the couches of friends. I've hosted a couple times, always with positive results.

Interests

I am an avid language learner. I also like to cook, travel, and dance. I am currently learning to play the violin.

Music, Movies, and Books

I don't really watch movies. I'm open to all kinds of music. I like non-fiction primarily, but will read just about anything. Especially science-fiction.

Right now I am really into medieval (European) history.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

As a member of a wild land fire suppression crew, I got to set part of the Tahoe National Forest on fire on a prescribed burn.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach bread making and other culinary feats. I also have a background in language teaching, if anyone is looking for conversation practice or an introductory lesson. I can show you how to use a chainsaw if you have one, you know, lying around collecting dust (that sounds creepier than intended. I have been professionally trained to use chainsaws).
