About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Fly like a bird!

ABOUT ME

I am
-a very active, LOUD and spontaneous person, love going out with friends, cooking, meeting new people from abroad, laughing, nature, weekendtrips. I am always up for a drink but not a big night-club person
-flexible with any kind of person (concerning music habits or other interests)
-some people consider me as a bit messed up cause i sometimes forget things and dont like to scedule my life a long time in advance (as many germans do)
- i am a never grown up. i love children, and i love anything that they do. i am neither shy nor would i feel ashame of doing something "childish". i know who i am and there is no reason to feel ashame. life is too short not to try out fun things! every summer i supervise huge children's camps and it always is such a big pleasure being a "big and crazy sister" to all those kids!
i am very concerned with the life of children in africa. i recently lived and worked in a school and an orphanage in nigeria- this changed my life.
oooh, and i love animals, be it on pyjama, my folders or even my plate! in fact, my mother was about to put my old plate with some elephants to the bin, but fortunately i have been able to save it! now u have a chance to eat from this lovely plate in dresden!
-when travelling im not that interested in going to museums; instead i love meeting locals. that is my way of how to travel around, just getting into their lifestyle! i do like adopting myself because oftentimes it has helped me broading my mind and being able to see the world through completely different persperctives. i have been travelling serveral times, but the couchsurfing experiences will always be the best memories!
I am here and there, often times i dont stay in one place that long. studying in dresden, but often times escape from my busy life to chill out in berlin on weekends. if there is no lectures at university i live in berlin, and again, in berlin i stay here and there, i have many friends to see and meet so dont expect me to rest in one place that often. well, in fact, i have like 5 or 6 kind of homes at friend's houses in berlin, so my tooth brushs are spread all over the city and somtimes i decide in the middle of the night of where to stay. my friends know me being that spontaneous...
please consider that i am a student, that means that often times i neither have a full fridge nor a washing mashine. i like cooking, and might feed you with a nice dinner, but please dont take it for granted. still, i try to make you feel home and always share what i have. it would also be handy to bring along a sleeping bag. hosting times really depend on what time you consider comming. even though i might host you, i cant be with you all the time, so please also try to be indepent and take initiative on your own if i have to work.
thank you for reading through my profile! in the last couple of months, i have received loads of requests that did not even contain my name. so please, try to write me a personal message if u are really interested in getting to know me as well as surfing my couch. i recommend u include into your request what you think we have in common... to prove u have read my profile please also tell me what makes you smile ;-)
WRITE ME A PERSONAL REQUEST!! again, my concern- i get the feeling that a lot of the new members dont really understand the concept of couchsurfing. cs is a fantastic community and i wish everybody would be able to participate but also to contribute!!! This is why I would also prefer detailed profiles and especially couchsurfers, whose reply rate is high! I enjoy people who are willing to host as well! PLEASE put some EFFORT in your profiles! Your profile is the ONLY way for a me as a potential host to SEE WHO YOU ARE! CS IS NOT A HOTEL!cs is not about free accomodation, but it is about cultural exchange. i am not interested in people who just send me a quick request because they want to save money.

PHILOSOPHY

enjoy the moment. dont think about tomorrow. everything happens for a reason, so don't hold yourself back!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

i have both been surfing and hosting. a good friend of mine from berlin once told me the idea of couchsurfing and i loved it from the very beginning. since i have been backpacking serveral times, i try to help travellers as much as i can. i know the feeling of being lost in the middle of the road when hitch hiking and later on being "saved" by a nice couchsurfer. at the moment i am working on giving back the couchsurfing community what i have received.
i am going to cs meetings in berlin, dresden and even been to irish ones. met wonderful people from all over the world which made me rethink and sometimes change my point of view.
i have also participated in beach camp berlin 2008 and 2009 (FANTASTIC!!!)

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

made excellent cs experiences when travelling ireland
i would actually like to quote my friend here:
if i dont have time/money to travel myself, i just host stranded couchsurfers at my house, thats almost the same.
i simply love cs because it has changed my life. i am grateful to be a member of this community.

Interests

I LOVE travelling because it gives me the unique opportunity to meet new people and to sit down calmly without all the obligations in the every day life, enjoying the atmosphere, watching the scenery as I take the trip.
i love esygoing and talkative people. i love random people i meet on the road being helpful for no reason. i love a good pint of guiness after a long day. i love summer. i love people, smiling. i love crazy road trip when u dont know where to end up in the evening. i love guinea pigs. i love people who have a passion for life and actually live it. i love honest friends. i love doing mistakes and learning a lesson from them. i love swimming, as it gives me a unique feeling of freedom. i love being in love with someone. i love chilling out on a summer evening at a beach bar on the spree river in berlin. i love emotions. i love running through a summer rain, completely soaked. i love picnics. i love chocolate. i love bike trips. i love sunbaths in a parc. i love sitting next to the fire, listening to someone play the guitar. i love picking blue berries. i love a good cuppa tea, it has to be barrys. i love being an actress and theatre in general. i love sleeping under the sky. i love working with children in africa. i love seeing the leaves change their colors in autum. i love being called the "crazy berliner" by my irish host family. i love life. One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

.

Teach, Learn, Share

germany seems to be a business society.if u get to know new people, probably one of the first sentences u are asked for, is what u do in life. i have a feeling too many germans have strange priorities, just caring about what u work and of course, related with that, how much money you earn. but this is not of any importance to me. much more relevant to me is, whether people are happy, have good friends and really go for reaching the point of being content with their lifes instead of "working themselves down until there is nothing left". i dont have much, but what i have i would always share.
