ABOUT ME

I'm Kaitlin :) All about me, huh...hmm. I'm still trying to figure this out, I'll do my best here. I'm a ninja. Like really a ninja. I moved to Dayton from Western NY a couple years ago to train at a the "Hombu Dojo", basically the headquarters of Ninjutsu in America.
Based on the principles of the ancient Ninja, modified for modern day self defense, I see it as far more than just a martial art; the physical self defense that we learn, while highly effective, is actually a model to teach self development. It has changed my life...and if you meet me I will definitely talk about it way too much and try to convince you to try it out. Because c'mon, who doesn't want to be a ninja?!
Anyway. I love nature. I want to be outside as much as possible, hiking, gardening, practicing survival skills, doing farm work...whatever. I love animals, and riding horses is a passion of mine.
I'm sarcastic and adventurous and friendly, and I love helping others in anyway I can. Not to brag, but I'm pretty much just awesome ;) I also have an awesome small furry sidekick named Leon (note: he's a cat), and Leon has an awesome small furry sidekick named Oscar (also a cat and seems okay with being a sidekick's sidekick).
Yeah, I dunno...that's what I've got right now. Like I said, I'm figuring it out as I go... :)

PHILOSOPHY

Hmm. Again, still working on this. I'm all about self development. I'm on a mission to be the best person that I can be, to fulfill my ultimate potential and be as true to myself as I can; I am more than my reputation, more than my belongings, more than the things that I do. So easy to get caught up in external things and lose track of who we actually are inside, what our essence is.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I joined the couchsurfing community a couple years ago so I could scope out Dayton before I full on moved, and then kind of dropped off the couchserfing map so to speak, but now I'm back and I'd love to get more involved, cause I met some awesome people and had a blast! If you wanna come serf with me and my sidekick team, c'mon out! I'll take you on a side trip to ninja school :)

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Ooh. Well, I've only surfed with a couple of people so far and haven't hosted anyone. Both of the places I stayed were fun and included really cool people...but one experience in particular stands out. At the end of a really fun stay, my hosts (who knew I was a ninja, and were cool with it...even though they claimed to be pirates) pulled a sword out of the coat closet and took my picture posing with the sword while "surfing" on the couch...haha. That collective house was so great! Love it all.

Martial arts(To Shin Do), riding horses, training horses, playing with horses, gardening, primitive/wilderness skills, snowboarding, playing with kittens, wrestling, playing in the rain, just playing,climbing trees, yoga, health, fixing the world, learning new things, being with friends new and old, being the best person I can be.

The most amazing thing I've done so far in my life in my opinion is moving to Dayton to train at the dojo here. The way that it has transformed my life is such an incredibly amazing gift, and I am so fortunate to have had the opportunity. <3

教，学，和分享

If you surf with me during the first week of any given month, we have a buddy week at the dojo and you can be my buddy and have an experience learning practical self defense principles...or come whenever and we can work on it at home :) Wilderness skills like making fire by rubbing sticks together, some edible wild plants, how to make strong rope from plants, natural camouflage... stuff like that. Horseback riding, if you have a horse handy :)
I'd love to learn anything...If you've read this far you probably know that :)
