About Me

Hi there,
My name is Adam and I come from Pakistan and now live in Budapest, Hungary!
I have always found it tough to describe myself - it's difficult, isn't it?

I graduated with an Economics and Mathematics degree in 2018 and worked in a Petroleum Company as a Management Trainee for a year. After which I decided to take a sabbatical and explore my interests and passions, professionally speaking. Soon after, I decided to do my masters in Budapest and I am work here, full time. Since I work in financial services industry, a lot of people tend to ask me about the markets and where to invest. I could go on and on in the markets but no financial advice. 🤫

My interests including reading, watching short shows and random videos on YouTube. I follow multiple sports including but not limited to Football, Cricket, and Tennis. As far as favourites are concerned, no one can take away my support from the Pakistani Cricket Team; my money in football is always on Belgium and Manchester United and needless to say, Roger Federer is an all-time great. Even New York Times Op-Ed said so. My most recent interest has been following Formula1; I have been to two grand prix so far: Budapest and Istanbul.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

It is better to answer why I am not on Couchsurfing because of the stereotypes that are associated with this platform.
Since 2013, I have been fond of travelling alone because it gives unparalleled freedom to make decisions and to carve trips according to an individual's likes and dislikes. But travelling solo comes with a cost: You tend to get bored by the end of the day'; there is a chance you make mistakes and fail to make the best use of your time, and having food alone can be a formidable prospect.
I believe Couchsurfing is one platform that allows to you have the best of both worlds. You get to meet locals who reside in town with whom you can interact and share cultures. Being a student of Anthropology, particularly cultural branch of anthropology, I can highly vouch for the impact of sharing cultures; it leads to evolution and diffusion at the same time. Moreover, it gives you the opportunity to exchange experiences with the people you meet.
I am here to expand my network, share my experiences, bring some sort of positive impact on others lives and have a good time whilst I am travelling. In exchange, I am always open to contributing in the best way possible: It could be with indigenous products of Pakistan, cooking traditional Pakistan food and much more.

Interests

Part of my interests which coincide with the values of Couchsurfing is to meet new people without any prejudice and without judging; learn from whoever you meet as every single person has a unique story to share and has a distinct life. Always be respectful of others boundaries and make no mistake in respecting privacy. Experience, share and promote harmony. Mutual coexistence and pluralism is the way to go. Last but not least, don't be a taker; rather always try to be a giver. [For more: Read "Give and Take" by Adam Grant]

Teach, Learn, Share

I don't think I am competent enough to teach others as we speak but I can surely share a lot regarding my country's history, present situation, and brief you about world events.
Moreover, I can always share my experience strolling around Europe where I visited more than nine countries. It was one of a kind experience where nothing was missed and everything was achieved.
I can also help you learn Urdu, the national language of Pakistan and can cook English Breakfast.
