Hi, I’m Mohsin, a product designer working at a software company that specializes in ERP solutions and scheduling systems. Beyond my professional life, I have a deep passion for storytelling and creativity. I’m a part-time filmmaker (or, as I like to call myself, a “daydreamer filmmaker”) with a love for indie cinema and literature. My documentaries have been selected at international film festivals, and I’m currently working on a new project.

When I’m not designing or making films, you’ll probably find me diving into books about history and literature, exploring new cuisines, or hunting for the perfect pizza or burger. I’m a dedicated foodie with a particular love for continental dishes and fine dining, and I’m always excited to discover hidden culinary gems.

I also enjoy playing sports like table tennis and foosball—great ways to unwind and have some fun! Whether it’s discussing films, sharing book recommendations, or exchanging stories over a great meal, I love connecting with people and experiencing the world from new perspectives.

I’m on Couchsurfing because I believe in the power of human connection and cultural exchange. Living in Pakistan, I’ve experienced the richness of my own culture, but I want to go beyond borders—to meet people from diverse backgrounds, learn about their traditions, and hear their unique stories.

For me, Couchsurfing is not just about exploring the world; it’s about building bridges and becoming a truly global citizen. I want to connect with people of different religions, identities, and lifestyles, fostering understanding and sharing experiences that enrich us all.

At the same time, I want to share my own culture and hospitality, offering my support and making others feel welcome. Every interaction is a chance to grow and see the world through someone else’s eyes, and that’s what excites me most about this journey.

Music: My taste in music varies with my mood—I enjoy a bit of everything. When I’m alone, I gravitate toward existentialist and Sufi music for their depth and introspection.

Books: I’m a devoted reader of existentialist literature, with favorites like Jean-Paul Sartre’s Nausea, Albert Camus’ The Stranger, and Nietzsche’s works. I admire Dostoevsky’s particularly (NFU) & Crime and Punishment, and Kafka’s masterpieces like The Trial and Metamorphosis. I also enjoy classic drama, including Shakespeare’s Hamlet.

Movies: I’m a cinephile who appreciates all kinds of films, from indie gems to commercial blockbusters, as long as the story and plot captivate me. I deeply admire Iranian cinema, with favorites like Abbas Kiarostami and Asghar Farhadi (A Separation, A Hero), as well as Italian neorealism. I’m also a fan of directors like Martin Scorsese, Quentin Tarantino, Bong Joon-ho, and visionary science fiction filmmakers.

In 2022, I created a documentary film that tells the inspiring story of a resilient woman in Pakistan. After losing her husband a decade ago, she single-handedly managed a small grocery shop to support her family, demonstrating remarkable strength and determination. The film was selected for two international film festivals and screened locally, making it a deeply fulfilling personal achievement.
