About Me

"A son cannot be ignored for long, his life is to fight, once he has navigated the boat to the middle, he cannot turn the paddle back, no matter how big the waves are. Let the helm break, let the sail tear, it is more noble than turning back home" [Buya Hamka]

My name is Mujahid, but you can call me Muja for short. I hail from the beautiful lands of North Borneo, a tropical country that's known for its lush greenery and wildlife. However, my love for adventure and exploration has taken me far beyond my hometown. I'm a traveler at heart and I'm always on the lookout for my next destination.

So far, I've been lucky enough to travel to many different countries, including Indonesia, Canada, South Korea, Japan, Taiwan, the Philippines, Australia, Thailand, Laos, Cambodia, and Vietnam. Each country has its unique culture and customs that fascinate me, and I enjoy soaking up new experiences and learning from the people I meet.

If I happen to find myself in your neck of the woods, I would love to explore your country and learn about your culture. I'm a curious person by nature, and I always enjoy hearing about other people's stories and experiences. Maybe you can offer me some insider tips on the best local cuisines, hidden gems, or must-see attractions in your area.

In addition to my love for travel, I also enjoy photography, music, and good conversation. I think connecting with others on a deeper level is important, and I'm always open to new friendships and relationships that stem from mutual interests and shared values.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

The reason for my presence here is to make friends with people from all around the world. As a traveler, I have had the privilege of witnessing firsthand the diversity that exists within cultures and countries. However, I have also come across individuals who exhibit racist beliefs. It is essential to recognize that nobody chooses where and in which nation they are born. Furthermore, no race is superior in comparison to others if one possesses a stable mental state and a kind heart.

Music, Movies, and Books

I have always been passionate about books, and my love for them has led me to create a small library within my home. My primary focus lies in reading books about history, particularly the histories of Europe, the United States of America, Japan, Korea, and China. I find it fascinating to delve deeper into the past and analyze how events have affected the world as we know it. Engaging in thoughtful and insightful discussions centered around these topics is something that I thoroughly enjoy. Are you interested in discussing history too? Let's exchange our thoughts and ideas!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I once went i hike where I found myself stranded in the jungle without any food or water. However, I was able to survive due to my preparedness which included a knife, rope, and lighter. The memory of my survival experience in the jungle still sticks with me even today, and it is something that I will never forget.

Teach, Learn, Share

If you happen to visit my hometown, allow me to take you on a tour of some of the most fascinating spots around town. I would love to introduce you to some of the finest local cuisines that we have to offer, each one coming from different cultures and races. Furthermore, we can share our travel experiences and talk about our favorite places that we've visited. If that's something that interests you, we can also cook together! I specialize in preparing some of my country's specialty dishes, like the Ayam Masak Lemak Cili Api, Ayam Masak Tomato Sambal, and Ayam Masak Kicap. Let's make something delicious together!
