One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Drove into a deep concrete irrigation ditch at 60 km/h in Laos on a motorcycle in the dry season, so there wasn't enough water to cushion the impact, but the water was deep enough for the motorcycle to keep losing power. Had to keep the throttle open or it would die and I wouldn't be able to start it to drive out of the ditch (this was a rented bike...). Turns out it's too steep to drive out. Last — pun unintended — ditch effort — full throttle on the bike without occupying the seat and I managed to take the bike out of the ditch and save myself as the bike also pulled me out. Miraculously neither of us needed any extensive repairs.
