About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Currently on a "Seven greatest natural wonders of the world" tour - done 3, 4 to go!!!
ABOUT ME
I like my country, but I love the world! I could travel forever without boring myself. I'm a pretty outgoing person, and I enjoy meeting new people with different life stories. I get easily fascinated when I'm outside of my own country, and find it interesting to explore different cultures for better or worse. I try to be an easy person to be around, and feedback tells me that I am not doing to bad a job. I love my music - and have a song for every occasion. Most of my music belongs in the heavy metal genre - but even pop-rock gets to me. I like all sorts of activities - extreme sports especially!
PHILOSOPHY
Plenty - I tend to get very philosophical, especially when drunk. I guess the one for the moment would sound something like..."you have got to make the best out of life, and you have got to do it yourself - if the opportunities aren't there, you create them"
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I was in Sydney for three month, and had to go to some of the northern beaches for a weekend. So I tried to hook up with a guy up there, to crash on his couch.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I have done some in Europe, and have hosted a few times. It's a great idea, I love it! Currently I am couchsurfing my way through USA....
Music, Movies, and Books
Like stated earlier, love my metal - I need at least one "hour of power" a day (and yes, the louder the better). I like my books as well, mostly crime and fast-paced thrillers. The best quadrilogy I've red would have to be Thomas Harris sequence of the hannibal lector books - absolutly amazing. Movies, great thrillers, horror, action and the occasional comedy.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I've done a fair bit of travelling, but the best thing that I have included in my trips so far, would have to be the Amazon river boat trip. I was travelling in Brazil for 2.5 month up the coast, and once I got to the northern Brazil, you can only get into the Amazon rainforest two ways 1. plane 2. Boat. I took the boat, which is a five day journey up the river with only locals on the boat. We were sleeping in hammocks, and they could probably fit in 150-200 hammocks in a 4m * 12m deck, meaning that whenever there were waves you would bumb into your "neighbour". But the evenings were the best, the sound of the river running beneath you, and no electric lights to block out the star-clear-sky - man that was beautiful. I saw river dolphins (pink ones), parrots, water buffaloes, heard monkeys, locals living in the middle of the forest, coming down to the river to wash their clothes....just an amazing experience!!!
Teach, Learn, Share
Hmmm...I'm a great beer drinker, and know a few games. I can teach you the spirit of heavy metal music ha ha ha ha. I play volley ball, handball(European version), squash, windsurfing, a little surfing, pretty good at standing on my head and hands, roller-skating....that's it I guess...
