ABOUT ME

When I was young I thought I was going to be an artist, years later I turned into an engineer and I'm glad I did because a creative opportunity appeared at work, ironic. I was given the chance to be involved in my beloved artsy world. Throughout the years, I have been continuing to pursue my art and music sides so that my brain doesn't unevenly shrink or grow. Though I can't call myself a true artist as I don't think I qualify but I would like to be known as an artist at heart.

Being an immigrant in the States, sometimes I feel I have an identity issue, maybe like one might experience during puberty. I am a true Hong Konger but California has also become home, so much that I feel I have adapted (or preferred) some American lifestyle while maintaining some of the traditional believes and principles as a Chinese. Afterall, Chinese, American, Chinese-American, we are all human. It is unfortunate to see that racial struggles still happen, discrimination still occurs in many places, unnecessary disputes and tragedies caused by miscommunication or being ignorant about other cultures.

Couch surfing community - please show me the brighter side of the world, the world with happy, positive and open minded people where if we all live in one place, we won't need to lock our doors! Wow! What a serious little passage about me!?! Oops, I think I just exposed my dull side. Don't worry, I can actually be quite a fool and laugh endlessly for no particular reason!
