About Me

BIG UPDATE: 6/17/2018: I moved to Minnesota in September 2017 and currently live and work in St. Paul. As much as I would love to host again, I'm not sure if my landlord would be down with it. I'll see what I can make work!

UPDATE: 9/22/2016: Am currently on an extended working holiday :D :D.

UPDATE 01/06/2015: Setting my profile to "Maybe Accepting Guests" as I'm going to be focusing on projects and such. Please feel free to request though! (Also updated the amount of digits in the "Day" slot of the date in the "Update" header of my previous update. It was bothering me to not have two digits :P)

UPDATE 12/09/2014: Re-enabling my nearly year old disabled couch :D ! This may have everything to do with needing an excuse to clean up my house :P.

UPDATE 2014 AFTER WAKING FROM A NAP: I was going to update my profile, but I've determined I'm still a bit tired. I'm going to take another nap. Thanks, Internet.

CURRENT MISSION

To over think this mission statement. OH GOD DID "OVER THINK" NEED A HYPHEN?

ABOUT ME

I have an uninteresting postcard from Ohio on my floor right now. I didn't get it from Ohio though, for it was a Christmas gift from my loving sister. If you were to ask every single person to have ever become acquainted with me, or even someone I said "pardon me" to as I passed them in a busy restaurant, they would describe me by this fact.

PHILOSOPHY

corned beef hash. Though I have gone a lot more pescetarian (sp?) these days.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I have met tons of people through Couch Surfing, and I owe loads of great life experience to the site. Now that I'm something resembling settled down (at least for the next few years), I'd like to give back by hosting.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Surfed in New Zealand. Met loads of friends through surfers surfing at friend's places and couchsurfing meetups.

UPDATE: 9/22/2016: Ok, 5 years later since my last update, I have now hosted a bunch of people and surfed with a bunch of people :D.

Interests

6/17/2018: These interests still apply. I still like frogs and the internet.
----------

I was going to update all the blabble below the break, as I wrote it two years ago. Turns out it still applies, so I'll just keep it.

-----------------------------

-i like frogs and the internet

-game developement

-zydeco (Cajun) dancing. Me = -5% skill + 105% enthusiasm

-I like getting intentionally lost. It also happens to be very easy for me to get lost unintentionally, but I never mind unless I am in a hurry :)

-I can't express in words how much I like random road trips. This is related to getting lost.

-i like owls and jank (and jank of owls. I collect owl statues, so please give them to me. You know it's just been taking up space.

-i REALLY like text to speech programs (i would say 15% of this interest goes into the programming aspect, 85% into attempting to talk like a text-to-speech program)

-Though i am a novice, i am particularly interested in linguistics / regional language dialects / etc
----------------------------------------
I particularly dislike knocking things over and having them knock other things over before being able to stop the chain reaction. Like literally, knocking over a cup and having it fall to the ground

  • fish
  • dancing
  • fishing
  • surfing
  • dialects
  • road trips

Currently reading: "I Am A Strange Loop" By Douglas
Hoffstader

I like sci-fi short stories, especially "The Last Question" by Isaac Asimov

To be truly honest, I have LOTS of reading to catch up on.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

This is like trying to ultimately pick a favorite movie (Big Fish, by the way).

Anyways, I have sprinted towards a minuscule red light in a grain field under a starry sky to encounter a secret tomb.
I've driven on brine scented seaside roads that have no geological or geographical or scientologylogical explanation to have actually existed.
But this I swear to you...no moment in mine or anyone's life will compare to the few minutes that I got to meet the man who played the Moon Man (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=owhA_sKoKbE)

Teach, Learn, Share

I can give you a full semester's course worth of knowledge about the generic nature of the state of Ohio.

EDIT: TWO YEARS LATER

I've kinda lost my Ohio touch, but I still got it. Yeahhhh.

Countries I’ve Visited

Belgium, Canada, France, Mexico, Puerto Rico, United Kingdom, United States

Countries I’ve Lived In

United States
