About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To embrace even the smallest aspects of the world around me and give them the attention, interest and respect they deserve.

ABOUT ME

I'm ever the optimist and will always look on the bright side of things; perhaps it's how I was raised. My family is from Austria, so I am a first-generation schnitzel-fed American. I love to travel and am currently hoping to head to Iceland in the upcoming months. By trade I'm an actor and a writer, and do improv, sketch comedy, drawing, play writing, song writing and attempts at writing a novel.

PHILOSOPHY

Nothing matters more than pursue your passions with an optimistic outlook. Anything is possible.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I've hosted a number of couch surfers with my old housemate Víðir Björnsson near Akureyri Iceland, and it's such a treat getting to meet people from all walks of life. I love hosting, surfing, and even meeting people for a beer or a cup of coffee. Let's trade stories!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've been hosting more than I've surfed, but I hope to change that. I've made so many wonderful friends through couch surfing, that I really want to keep that going.

Interests

Reading novels, writing novels, automatic writing, coffee, hiking, snowshoeing, rafting, improv acting, traveling, singing loudly in the car, taking photographs, Surrealism, snowboarding, enjoying a stranger's company, learning about different cultures and customs, staying up late into the night having deep conversations, long dinners, quick snacks, fine wine, discovering breweries, smiling and spending time with my friends and family.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I sold everything, packed my huge backpack and moved to Iceland in 2014. I became a whale watching guide and spent my summer on a ship watching humpback whales, minke whales, and dolphins. It's been an incredible experience that I will never forget.

Also, about 10 years ago, when I was in Austria, I went hiking to the top of the highest mountain I've ever climbed. From there I watched a thunderstorm form above the valley below. The thunder was overwhelmingly loud and the lightening was terrifying, but I'll never forget it. It was one of the most beautiful things I've experienced.

Teach, Learn, Share

I do a lot of improv acting and teaching, and have taught everyone from children to adults. It's a wonderful form of entertainment that I feel really lucky to be a part of. I also do a lot of writing, and would love to do some collaborative writing projects with people from all around the world.
