About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Collect all the pokem... Err, meet, share and learn all I can with every one!

ABOUT ME

Gosh, that's hard! I think the word that would describe me the most accurately would be passionate.

When I'm on my own, I put most of my passion in music, computer science, physics, electrical engineering and Linux.

Whenever I can, I try to visit and stay in touch with my friends scattered in so many places! I also particularly enjoy meeting new people, especially at unexpected places!

PHILOSOPHY

Get inspired and share!

To build a better world, we need to be better individuals.

Carpe diem, make the most out of any situation at hand :)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have been hosting at least a dozen of surfers, I am co-organizing the weekly meetings in Helsinki (along with some of the parties that come out of that). Finally, I attended 3 camps (Finland summer madness, sauna camp in Tallinn, and summer camp in Estonia).

I love meeting new people, and seeing again the friends I met through couchsurfing.

Interests

As I said before, I am a passionate guy. I feel passionate about music (progressive like Pink Floyd, Genesis, Dream Theater or Infected Mushroom, or classical music), physics, computer science or engineering.

However, I spend most of my spare time working on Linux, developing graphic drivers that can be used and understood by anyone for free!

I also play the electric guitar and enjoy engineering new stuff :)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Hmm, hard to tell, but here is what I was really amazed of:

- Being an exchange student in Preston, UK (next to Manchester and Liverpool) and in Ottawa/Canada
- Riding the highest roller-coaster in Europe (The big one, Black Pool, UK)
- Giving talks about my research or personal work in international conferences
- Meeting people with genuine personality, knowledge and experience from all around the world!
- Getting my PhD in power efficiency. Saving the planet by saving one Joule at a time!

Here is what I've seen that amazed me:
- The northern lights in Lapland/Sweden
- People talking about their passions
- Crazy gigs from incredible musicians (Ayreon experience, Dream Theater, Roger Waters, Brit Floyd, Mike Portnoy's Shattered Fortress, The watch (Genesis cover band), Epica, Symphony X, Rhapsody of Fire, Four seasons of Vivaldi, etc...)
- Independent people collaborating at creating new stuff without having actually met in real life.
- Meeting people who actually enjoy the resulting work so much that they recognize the people behind it at conventions!
- The skills individuals have

Teach, Learn, Share

Computer science : I know many programming languages and use them both at work and on my spare time. You should be able to ask me pretty much everything about a computer, from transistors to what you see on the screen and networks :)
I can also talk about computer security, why can you pay on the internet securely and what a credit card is.

Music: Not sure I can teach a lot on this matter, but I've been playing the electric guitar for quite a while now (10+ years). If you want to learn a little about progressive and classic rock such as Led Zeppelin, we can do something about it :)

Science: I have nothing too specific but I'm deeply interested in science in general. I love discussing about it.

Travel experience: I've been travelling a lot lately, visiting friends and attending conferences which also allows me to visit around them. We can share tips or fun facts from our trips!
