I grew up in Cairo and lived there for 27 years so I experienced it during its stagnant days, bright days and finally the dark age.

I live in Doha since 2014 work as a film producer and director. And I have been working in that field since 2009.

My first trip abroad ever was in 2010 to the Netherlands (my first flying experience) and there i knew about Couchsurfing. Since then, i have being gone around the globe with my backpack.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I was studying in the Netherlands for 3 months in 2010 when i was wishing to go around Europe . But, as most students, i had barely enough money for my daily expenses. A friend of mine told me about both magic keys, Couchsurfing and Ryanair.

At the beginning, CS was just a way to travel priceless. But then it became an addiction of knowing and making new friends everywhere. Now, i and my wife have very close friends who we know through CS. We have being friends since years ago and we keep seeing them from time to time in different cities around the world.

Eine tolle Erfahrung, die ich gemacht habe

Participating in the uprising of the 25th of January 2011, when it erupted. Revolution has made us while we were making it.

I visited Gaza in 2013 between two wars, there was no way to enter the land because of the siege so I crossed the borders through the underground tunnels with my wife, kid and a CS friend.
