About Me

I’m an energetic, friendly, and outgoing person with a big love for life and adventure. After traveling through Southeast Asia for 9 months, I’ll be starting university in September 2024. I'm passionate about climbing and enjoy outdoor and adventure sports like bouldering and via ferratas. I’m currently learning Italian and have dabbled in Spanish, though my speaking skills could use some work! I love playing the piano, especially music by contemporary classical composers like Einaudi and Yann Tiersen.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I love making genuine connections with people from all walks of life and believe that learning from others is one of the best ways to grow and discover more about myself. As a young adult about to start my bachelor's studies, Couchsurfing is also a great way for me to travel on a budget while meeting new people and experiencing different cultures.

Music, Movies, and Books

I love all kinds of music, depending on my mood. I’m a big movie fan, with favorites like Kung Fu Panda, Everything Everywhere All at Once, The Social Network, Get Out, Free Solo, and The Secret Life of Walter Mitty. I also enjoy reading, and some of my top books are Normal People by Sally Rooney, The Beach by Alex Garland, The Power of Habit by Charles Duhigg, Sapiens by Yuval Noah Harari, and Ready Player One by Ernest Cline.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I have hiked the Annapurna Circuit with my older sister. It was amazing for so many reasons: it allowed me to get to know and appreciate my sister in a way that I hadn't before; it pushed me physically to an extent I have never before experienced and will likely not experience again; the scenery of the Himalayas was breath taking beyond description; and finally because the people and friends we met along the way were so lovely that they will be friends to stay in contact with for life!

Teach, Learn, Share

I’m passionate about climbing and love teaching others how to enjoy the sport safely, drawing from my experience as a climbing instructor in Laos. Currently, I'm excited about learning paragliding—there's something thrilling about the idea of flying back down after a climb! I’m also learning Italian, which has been a refreshing change after focusing on Spanish for so long.
