About Me

Just joined up!

Folk, Jazz and Tribal musician. Checks stuff out. Likes ardent conversation

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Being hosted:

To save money (our budget is small!); We hope to blend in as far as possible - yeah right.. If we can learn a bit about the history of the area in the process that can be cool. We hope to get a couple of pointers with regards to checking out the social scene.

Hosting:

Being able to return the favor for the occasions where I get hosted.
Staying informed on life overseas.
To give a roof over a traveller's head has always been known to be an honor worldwide. Being part of this global tradition and everything that go with it is exciting for me.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music:
This year it was contemporary folk, but, living in a third-world country, I often feel guilty listening to comfortable people singing serious. At the moment it's a little synth-pop, synth-wave, lots of IDM and, of course, the B52's. Last year It was DnB along the lines of early Squarepusher, and I listened to some old-school progressive horn players, such as Faroah Sanders and John Surman,
I also went through a metal phase. Also had an Alternative phase (still do). My mega Dream-trance and Ambient phase of the 90's still lingers. Recently I discovered progressive house; waiting for it to get more progressive. Did I mention the B-52's?

Movies:
Used to be a huge Psy-fi and horror fan. Still watch them now and then. Nowadays it's mainly documentaries (history, music, day-in-the-life, autobiographical)

Books:
Travel journals and Ancient Wisdom, but I enjoy them slowly and thoroughly, and bit by bit.
