About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Accomplish my karma yoga through feeding people
ABOUT ME
I'm a mix of cultures and ethnicities: a first generation Estonian with Russian roots, who has lived in the UK, Luxembourg and, since 2006, Belgium. Tired of having to define where I do belong, I decided to refer to myself as 'bruxelloise' - which, admittedly, is a nationality of its own (chaotic and multi-cultural/lingual). I'm a 100% vegetarian, but promise not to preach vegetarianism to you - if you promise not to try to convince me to eat cute bunnies calling out for their mothers! ;)
PHILOSOPHY
"I will think about it tomorrow" - Scarlett O'Hara
Also, social justice, recycling and equality for all.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
By hosting (more) and surfing (less). I'm also happy to include the couchsurfers into my daily activities (cooking, yoga, ecologicical projects), if interested.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Quite an experienced CS - I met some great friends through the network!
Interests
Cooking, some more cooking, yoga and yoga again, but also reading, walking, debating and traveling. Right now, however, taking care of an adorable (but demanding) baby boy is my main interest and occupation! :)

Music, Movies, and Books
I fear if I say I deeply enjoy re-reading "Harry Potter" no couchsurfer will ever want to play with me, but nevertheless... :-) My other recently discovered gems include Styron's Sophie's Choice, Forster's Howards End, a few books by Saramago and a whole lot of Ulitskaya.
Music-wise: am afraid I know nothing produced after 1991 (the year of the last real Queen album); also The Beatles; Nina Simone; Jacques Brel; Tom Waits, and lots of 'nueva cancion' (Mercedes Sosa, Quilapayun, Victor Jara, Caetano Veloso). Currently, I'm on a delicious never-ending opera-discovery journey.
Oh, and incidentally, Tchaikovsky's violin concerto in D-major is world's greatest music masterpiece, IMHO.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I had durian in Malaysia, thanks to my fabulous CS hosts Chiayee and Sen. Disgusting fruit, priceless memories!
Teach, Learn, Share
I'll be happy to share with you the memories of my Soviet era childhood (in case you're into history), some yoga moves and give you a short intro into Belgian beers. I'll also be happy to cook for you (time permitting).
