About Me
CURRENT MISSION
i'm travelling around India making a film about music, rhythm & performance
ABOUT ME
last year my friend and i were looking for a house and when we couldn't find one, we decided to use the money we'd saved up to start travelling around India. we're now back home, but what started off as a six month journey has turned into a 3 year travel & filming project about music, rhythm and performance in India. If you'd like to know more, check out http://www.uramili.in
PHILOSOPHY
I don't really have any grand overarching philosophies. Right now I just want to see as much of my country as I possibly can over the next two years.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
In the last two years my friend and I hosted many people in the house we lived in. I have since moved out of there, and am currently living just outside of the city. I've been travelling and filming all over India since March 2011, and plan to continue for the next two years, so I'd love to meet up with other travellers to exchange ideas & stories!
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Every CS experience so far has ranged from being pleasant to exciting to creating a friendship that has gone beyond CS. Thankfully I've never had a negative CS experience. In the last one year I've travelled around India, and couch-surfed a lot the way, except
Interests
chocolate :) i love to bake, and someday want to run a cafe serving baked goodies of all kinds. yum.
i'm also just getting started with a vegetable garden in the house i live in - its the first time i'm getting to plant something straight into the soil instead of in pots, and i'm super excited :)

Music, Movies, and Books
im terrible at these lists, but here's two little known books that you must check out if you haven't, one is the "griffin and sabine" series by nick bantock.
the other is "you're an animal, viskovitz", by alessandro boffa.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Watching farmers singing while they worked in the spiti valley in a harsh desert landscape.
Teach, Learn, Share
I'd love to have people over who can share ideas or help with the organic garden I'm trying to set up in my house.
i think i can make films, i can keep a tune quite easily but i tend to make up tuneless songs with silly words, I can cook vegetarian food of all sorts - i like to experiment so you have to be prepared for some disasters also :), i can touch my tongue to the tip of nose, i can walk endlessly, i have a good memory for numbers and a terrible one for faces and names... if any of this is for some reason useful to you, come on over :)
