About Me
CURRENT MISSION
"Travel is useful, it exercises the imagination. All the rest is disappointment and fatigue." - Celine
ABOUT ME
Traveling and writing, that is my life. I want to meet kindred souls and expand my non-blood family. I've come to the point in my life where I want a family of my own creation, and that doesn't necessarily involve marriage and children. I've encountered a few souls in my travels that I now consider a part of my slowly growing extended family of artists and wanderers, and I seek to expand this new and exciting family.
PHILOSOPHY
Find something to live for and embrace it, because so many people never find that something.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I did an 8-day tour with my brother's band back in June of 2006, that took us from Philadelphia to the Midwest and back. We did a lot of crashing on people's floors and couches, whoever was gracious enough to take us in. It was an amazing thing, for a kind soul to let 4 total strangers sleep in their home and use their shower, we even got fed a couple of times. It was a turning point in my life. (though not officially couchsurfing)
I surfed my way across the country from Los Angeles to New Jersey in December of 2008. I met some amazing, kind, and unique people and the whole experience gave me a new faith in the goodness of humanity, seriously. It was another turning point in my life. I decided I will never travel again without couchsurfing because it is absolutely the best way to connect with new people and to connect with a new environment. Surfed across the country again, east to west this time, in January 2010; stayed with a few of the same folks as my first cross-country jaunt. By now I'd even go so far as to call them friends.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Driving across the country three times in a year and a half.
I worked for nearly three consecutive years with the Student Conservation Association, and can't really condense three years of travel, camping, wilderness immersion, and human connections into an easy sentence. It allowed me to see and do things that still seem surreal. Life changing, for sure.
