About Me

Hi! I'm 31 years old, I'm a professional musician and artist, and a concrete finisher during the summer. Voice and guitar are my main instruments, and I also write songs. I love to to learn and to create with my hands. I'm a "maker", in fact, I build some of my instruments. I'm super passionate about food and cooking. Whether I'm your host or your guest, I'm always happy to cook for people, and if we spend enough time together, there's a good chance I'll make you something special to eat. I enjoy meaningful conversations and interactions. I grew up surrounded by nature and I thrive in it, spending time outdoors for me is important, but I also enjoy the pace and hum of big cities. I love meeting new people and building new relationships, so hopefully I'll get to meet you.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I've actually been involved in the Couchsurfing community for a long time. In university, our house hosted couch surfers almost weekly, and we made a point of going above and beyond to give them the most amazing experience of our city and surrounding region that we possibly could. I'm talking sailing, hiking, rock climbing, sea kayaking, parties, saunas, bonfires, music, pot lucks, fishing, dancing. Unfortunately, I never bothered to make my own profile, and so I've missed out on keeping up with a lot of cool people, and on building up my own network of references. So while I'm starting from the bottom, I feel like I have a good grasp of what couch surfing is all about. It's not just a free place to stay, it's about sharing experiences and making connections :)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Hard to name just one.... I spent 6 weeks living in rural Quebec learning to build acoustic guitars from an amazing luthier named Sergei. The two guitars I built in that time are my main gigging instruments today. I did an entire musical tour via hitchhiking in my early twenties. I learned to build cedar strip canoes and wooden paddles in a log cabin in New Brunswick. I drove a motorcycle from Minneapolis to Seattle. I caught and released a 48" muskie (thats 4ft long) on Lake of the Woods.
