ABOUT ME

I'm another California transplant to Austin Texas. There are so many of us - we might have to start calling this place Austifornia!

I live in North Austin - TechRidge, about 10 miles from downtown and fairly close to the TechRidge Park and Ride bus terminal with links to all over Austin. I like music (one of the main reasons for moving here - there's music everywhere!) I also enjoy conversation, meeting new people, sharing stories and experiences, drinking coffee, having fun.

I've got a positive outlook and appreciate that quality in other people too. There's enough negativity in politics, crime and the news that I prefer to hang with people who can also find the brighter side of things.

I belong to several groups and try and network through CS to be a member of a larger community.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have couch surfed before but my membership somehow went away :( I'm rejoining and am looking forward to rebuilding my references, friendships and experiences.

Interests

I like music, making new friends, playing boardgames. I like movies, food (I'm a chef), cooking & baking, coffee, late night conversations (they always seem more real), driving the convertible on day trips and random/spontaneous adventures.

The Harry Potter Books, The Color Purple, Grapes of Wrath, To Kill a Mockingbird, other classic literature.

Sci Fi movies like Starwars, Startrek, Harry Potter, The Color Purple, Classic hollywood 50s and 60s Genre.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Arriving in Lousiana and Mississippi just after the Katrina and Rita disasters, is something I'll never forget.

Teach, Learn, Share

I have had experiences in helping others after working in Louisiana as a Katrina/Rita disaster worker. I have been in the military (Navy) so can always share those experiences. I've witnessed oppression and discrimination and have learned to not be brought down by it. I have varied religious and spritual experiences and am open to others ideas.
