ABOUT ME

I just recently retired from teaching public high school after 30 years, and live in a spacious 2 bedroom apartment with private baths, 10 minutes west of downtown Greenville, South Carolina.
I grew up in Greenville, was a creative child always interested in the performing arts. I went to college to become a high school choral conductor, and have taught in 4 locations throughout my state. I also started a civic chorale in one town, and have also been a church choir director in several denominations, also conducting handbell ringing. I'm always interested in anything involving the performing arts, which has allowed me to travel around the world and meet people in the same field.
I now live in Easley, South Carolina which is a 10 minute drive from the west side of Greenville. The Blue Ridge Mountains are just north of us, and I can be there in about 15 minutes, which is a great way to relax and enjoy a scenic ride, seeing the sights.
Downtown Greenville is one of the east coast's outstanding remodeled cities, with great restaurants, on-going theater and the arts, and a natural waterfalls and park within the city (one of only 3 in the USA), all within walking distance. We have a warm climate, located halfway between Atlanta and Charlotte, North Carolina.
After having taught public school for many years, I've learned to be easy going around all kinds of people and enjoy good conversation with anyone. I'm very relaxed and love to laugh, especially at myself. I live alone, and currently have one pet, a cat named Boo. The apartment complex where I live is very nice, with two swimming pools, and easy access to major highways (I-85 is seven minutes away) in this area. I enjoy traveling and meeting new friends from all over the world. I've spent several Christmases in Holland with good friends and any time I can get away to go to Europe is a real treat.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Since CouchSurfing is a new experience for me, I thought it might be fun to make my extra bedroom available to travelers. It is completely furnished, with a double bed, and private bath.
