Overview
About Me
I enjoy paying attention to the world. Listening deeply, questioning everything, noticing excellence and beauty. I savour my food without rush. I get excited by unusual ideas, projects, people, combinations. I go on adventures and look over edges. I climb trees. I find everything quite marvellous. I don’t care for categories. I do care a lot about learning, understanding, creating objects and experiences, about what could be possible.
I am straightforward and usually prefer silence to empty or ugly words. Sometimes I retreat into solitude. But when I'm around, I'm usually wide-eyed, mixing up the serious and the ridiculous.
I really value honesty, respect, and passion.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Because places are about the people in them.
Interests
I feel good out in the wild and in movement (mostly swimming and hiking in summer, cross-country skiing in winter, yoga year-round). I've recently tried my hand at weightlifting, because strength is exciting. I think too many people forget they are a body.
Experimenting with food and exploring with the senses is a central part of my life. I love literature and art and theatre and design, especially when they surprise me. I sometimes create things with my hands (mostly jewellery), write (mostly poetry), and make people do unexpected things (mostly dress up in ridiculous costumes).
But more than anything I’m interested in humans and how they change. My conversations can turn into ramblings about culture, identities, experiences, equality, transformations, political life, education, art, sensations, what it means to be human both in body and mind, and how we could understand each other better.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Seeing a volcano eruption up close, with the Earth's fiery tongue reaching 11km high against a starry sky, while staying in an indigenous Mapuche village in Chile. Feeling the greatest awe of my life vibrating through the body, and being perfectly calm. Then sharing a cup of mate around a fire!
Teach, Learn, Share
I enjoy cooking for people, and sharing a workout.
I'm a nerd about designing learning experiences and food experiences - that part of my brain is open source if you'd like to exchange ideas for your own projects.
