OK, what to say, what to say...

31yo male, well educated, loves travelling. Easygoing, relaxed attitude - typically Australian in that respect :) I grew up in the country but have lived in a big city (Sydney) half of my life now - I like to think I bring the best of both worlds to the table!

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I've been a member for a couple of years now and have so far used the site more to meet friends than to find places to stay, but now that I'm back in my home city I'm ready to meet fun people visiting my country for a change!

Happy to meet up for a drink with people if you've already got a place to stay lined up :)

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Surfed a couple of couches in Canada and met a few new friends through the site. Have only just settled down back in Australia so haven't hosted as yet!

Interested in lots of them! Musically, kinda top-40 radio trash. Hey, I know, I know. Books, I like reading history and historical fiction, among other things. My favourite author is Lindsey Davis, if that name rings a bell. I also like to pretend I'm intellectual by reading popular history/science type stuff. Jared Diamond, stuff like that. Movies - I tend to choose comedies or thrillers. Action films can be fun too but not my first choice.

I've skydived, but there's got to be something more interesting...let me reflect on this for a while!

I think perhaps one of the most amazing things I've seen, and I cherish it because not too many people travel there, is the area around Kyrenia in (Northern Cyprus). The mountains behind the city, with the St Hilarion Castle, are astounding, and then Bellapais Abbey really is one of the most beautiful places you could ever hope to see.

I have a great brain for trivia, and having worked as a closed captioner for more than 5 years, I've seen a LOT of television. I'm not sure what my area of specialisation is yet, but I'd rate myself a very good generalist.
