About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Graduate college and get into law school while maintaining my sanity

ABOUT ME

Hokay, so here's my life.

I'm from a small town on the central coast in California. It's not on the beach, I don't know any celebrities, and I don't know how to surf. The weather there is amazing, and I miss it horribly when Reno throws a random snowstorm my way.

I Attend the University of Nevada and I'm set to graduate in the spring of 2010. I'm double majoring in creative writing and political science, with a minor in religious studies.

I want a career in which I'm able to help people, save the environment, and be an all around swell person. I think law school is going to help me achieve those goals. Thus, I'm currently studying my butt off for the LSATs, and trying to be on my best collegiate behavior towards professors to garner letters of recommendation.

Two years ago I studied abroad in Prague, and I absolutely loved it! The architecture was amazing, the culture was tangible, everything was cheap, and the public transportation wasn't filled with unbathed drunks (well, usually at least). It may seem melodramatic to say so, but I've never felt more like I truly belonged, and was living the life I was born to, as I did while I was living in this beautiful city. I will go back someday... I simply have to.

I have supportive parents, loving siblings, and amazing friends. And really, that's all I think a person needs in life. Lucky me.

PHILOSOPHY

To be truly happy, to feel like I've fulfilled my purpose in life, and to leave the world a better place than I found it.

If I am happy and fulfilled, what else do I need? And if I leave the world a better place, what else can be asked of me?

It's sort of my trinity of purpose that I base most of my decisions around.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I fell in love with couchsurfing when my sister and I couchsurfed in Spain in December of 2007. I would love to host a couch surfer, but at my current residence that's not really an option. But if you're ever in Reno and want to grab a cup of tea, contact me, and I'd be happy to show you around a bit.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've couchsurfed once with my sister in Madrid, and it was a wonderful experience. I definitely feel like I got to experience more of the Spanish culture as a result of staying with a local.

Interests

Living life to the fullest. Memorizing odd bits of trivia. Traveling, and other less epic things to fill the budgetary gap between adventures.

Music, Movies, and Books

Futurama and Arrested Development are both more brilliant than most of the drivel on TV today.

As far as music is concerned, I like a variety of music. Some of it is verifiably epic, some is irrefutably trash. But I like it anyway.

I love reading, and Hrabal, Orwell, Salinger, and Vonnegut are my favorite authors.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

The sun rise over the Vlatava River in Prague, CZ from the famous Charles Bridge. Gorgeous view!
