ABOUT ME
I think mullets are okay sometimes. I like a good pair of jeans. I like sitting on stoops. I like music. I mostly play other people's music on a lot of different instruments. I like other people's music, if it's good. I like it when my eyelids freeze together. I text with proper spelling and judge people who don't. I like stand-up, and for that matter, standing up, although sitting down's not underrated. I've gotten really good at small talk. I'm pragmatic, but that doesn't mean I'm not broke.
PHILOSOPHY
Somewhere something, nowhere nothing.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I live with six other people at the time so I'm not really available to host, but if you need a tour guide (and I'm not working my butt off) I'd love to show you around Prague!
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I'm still pretty new to couchsurfing, but I've had great experiences and I think it's a great way to travel and meet new friends.
Interests
I love bikes and biking, although the perilous streets of Prague haven't been conducive to the hobby. I also love live music, especially when it's hidden in nooks or secret clubs or basements. I'm also interested in quirkier tourist sites - for example, one of my favorite churches revolves around the number five and a disembodied tongue. Music, Movies, and Books
Oh yeah - John Lurie is AWESOME. For movies, I love anything - and I mean anything, from The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari to Mean Girls to the Royal Tenenbaums to Jurassic Park. Music, almost anything goes - I have a soft spot for ukuleles and loop pedals. Books - I'll give anything a go, but the chances of making it through an entire book are slim. I most recently read The Psychopath Test - fascinating!
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Sun Moon Lake in Taiwan was absolutely beautiful. I went after the floods in 2008 and seeing the wreckage and the natural beauty was really powerful.
Also, getting a free taxi ride home in a cop car in Istanbul was pretty fun :)
Teach, Learn, Share
I can teach you a bit of Czech, a bit of English, and bit of French, a bit of Chinese, and approximately three words of Karen. I can teach you how to knit and how to make a great vegan tangine, although I'd just as happily share a big rare steak.
