ABOUT US

I We are Maxime and Amélie, a young married couple on a honeymoon trip. As we are not common people, we did not go to paradise island and preferred to make a six month trip across Northern Europe. We want to discover new cultures, to meet persons with an alternative way of life closer to our expectations, we mean closer to nature. In France we are both working in an office, Amélie as a researcher in dairy livestock farming and Maxime as a business man in packaging field. We would like to spend more time in doing handy activities and come back to our roots (Amélie in livestock farming and Maxime in the mountain). We are looking for a more sustainable way of life, which involves more collaboration between people, that is, more complementarity.

We are especially looking for opportunity to improve our do-it-yourself (DIY) abilities. We are currently renovating a house and we need some extra trick to make it awesome.

As Amelie grew up in a farm she enjoys taking care of animals and vegetables. Her heart prefers dairy cows, but she also likes the other animals. She is even able to sing like a hen or a rooster ;-). Amelie is also a real chef in the kitchen, she is able to cook three stars menu's. As she is fluent in French, English and German, she can be a teacher in this languages. And, as a modern woman she is also very good at do it yourself, especially when it comes to wooden furniture restoration.
She is curious about everything and will ask you a million questions to understand why ? Maybe because she is from the Y generation.

Maxime loves to play music with his Clarinette, and overall to play music. Even if he won't be able to bring his instrument with him, he will love to teach music to anyone interested. Besides playing music, he particularly enjoys gardening, harvesting fruits and veggies that are home grown, and cooking them in a family meal. Even if he didn't grew up on a farm, he likes to learn new things and is happy to make himself helpful. French, English and Spanish are his languages, and there is no doubt that he will be happy to share his knowledge with you to help you improve those languages.

We are both leaving in our house where we host housemates because we like to spend time with people and live in "community". Even though we don't have children so far, we both enjoy spending time with children, playing with them, helping them to do their homeworks... So if you want to have some good time without your children we will be happy to fulfill this wish.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I surfed in Bulgaria and France. I like to meet peaple that are always very interesting.
I also host a few couple of time when I was living in Strasbourg.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I made some couchsurfing in Bulgaria during a trip with friends. I also make a bike trip in Britanny with my girlfriend and we meet some Couchsurfer there.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

- 1 month travel in south america.
- differents 5/6 days treck whith all I need on my back
- to wake up at 4 am to climb a moutain to see the sun rising off the sea from the top of the moutain
