About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Restart doing Improv, allocate more life and love to friends, reconfigure my life-work balance. Discover the unconscious.
ABOUT ME
Well, I guess my biggest personal asset is my enthusiasm.
I am down to earth and I really enjoy cooking, caring for flowers, and doing other homey things.
I am a thinker and I'm into reading and discussing things, as well as learning new stuff - I am definitely dopamine driven person.
I am moving, and I love the freedom bicycle gives me. I'm fond of dancing, be it swing or minimal. I also care about moving my body system parts with ashtanga yoga and (lately) some Sistema.
I am a nerd and go for some nerdy things like UNIX and functional programming languages, or programmable text editors.
In a moment of change now. For last few years I've been working hard in an organisation that mobilizes people to do good things in Poland, together. This was both challenging, rewarding and exhausting.
Now it's time for me to slow down a bit, to get out of town, to go back to training and performing Improv Comedy, to catch up with some people, books and places.
I'm interested in a lot of things, which makes me a non-expert at each. I like technical topics, the sciences; maths, logic, etc. That's where I've started. I'm also interested in humanities; apart from philosophy -- literature (though I've got a lot to catch up with!), languages, psychoanalysis. Another dimension is performing – although I did not practice it a lot, improvised comedy (Improv) let me display a special kind of truth and made me feel really happy.
I'm quite traditional about food. That makes it a social thing – I like cooking and eating together. I wouldn't bear eating and living alone.
I listen to music most of the time. I like electronic music/alternative/sung poetry/world/oriental music, some jazz, classical music.
I live in Warsaw, Poland. This is a weird country and a weird city – big and concrete, rebuilt after the World War II and then again during wild 90s. Warsaw is eclectic and broken – but also lively and cool, drawing a bit from hipsterdom of Berlin and NYC, and a bit from it's own history of style and life.
Currently I live in one of the districts neighboring the city center.
PHILOSOPHY
Simplicity and naturalness appeal to me.
For quite a while I've been a kind of a behaviorist, believing in deeds not words. However, it turns out I am also a speaking being, that has an unconscious part telling truth on my behalf. Or putting it short – I am into psychoanalysis (especially Lacan) – which is a discipline by which you can discover things about you that are worth knowing. I would say I am still halfway.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
It's a great formula to travel and discover foreign places through real life of the generous hosts. It gets you all the backstage.
I've been on CS for quite a while, and traveled a lot of amazing places and met fantastic people (and sometimes friends to this day). I have also hosted surfers when I had more time and space in my life to engage with them.
As I mentioned before, last years were really busy time for me – which my CS profile proves well.
