ABOUT ME

Primeiramente, eu sou gay e tenho muito orgulho disso. Se você tem preconceito contra gays ou qualquer pessoa do espectro LGBTQI+, ou se você apoia as visões de mundo do Bolsonaro, é improvável que nos demos bem. Portanto, talvez seja melhor não nos conhecermos.

Sou um entusiasta da natureza e da vida. Adoro viajar e explorar novos lugares, bem como conhecer pessoas diferentes, e estou sempre aberto a experiências diversas, independentemente de quão singulares possam ser. Sempre fui fascinado por descobrir e mergulhar em diferentes culturas, além de aprender novos idiomas. No entanto, além do português, só falo inglês em um nível razoável e conheço algumas frases em francês.

Recentemente, mudei-me para Brasília. Moro com meu companheiro e dividimos um apartamento com um amigo. Temos quatro gatinhos como membros da família. Embora não seja garantido que eu possa hospedar alguém, posso tentar, desde que a pessoa não se importe em dormir no sofá e não tenha problemas com gatos.

First of all, I am gay and I am very proud of it. If you have prejudice against gays or any kind of LGBTQI+ individuals, and/or if you support Bolsonaro's worldview, we will not get along. So it's better for us not to get to know each other.

I am a lover of nature and life. I love to travel, explore new places, and meet new people, and I am always open to new experiences no matter how different they may be. I have always been fascinated by discovering different cultures and learning new languages (although, besides Portuguese, I only speak English reasonably well and a few phrases in French).

I recently moved to Brasília. I live with my partner, and we share an apartment with a friend. Together, we have four cats. It's not certain that I can host someone, but I can try if the person doesn't mind sleeping on the couch and is comfortable around cats.

Gosto de arte no geral, música, teatro, cinema, lugares em que eu possa ter contato com a natureza. Gosto de conhecer novas culturas e de pessoas de bem com a vida.

Music, Movies, and Books

Filmes: Sou apaixonado por filmes de drama, romance e com temática LGBTQ+. Tenho um grande apreço pelo cinema latino-americano e europeu. Sempre que possível, gosto de frequentar festivais de cinema na minha cidade e prefiro os cinemas de rua em vez dos localizados em shoppings. Sou especialmente fã dos filmes do Tarantino.

Música: Tenho uma ampla variedade de gostos musicais, desde MPB e bossa nova até blues, soul, pop e um pouco de rock e indie. Alguns dos artistas que aprecio incluem Adriana Calcanhotto, Chico Buarque, Elis Regina, Clara Nunes, Cazuza, O Rappa, Natiruts, Coldplay, Adele, Amy Winehouse, Tove Lo, entre outros.

Movies: I am passionate about drama, romance, and LGBTQ+ themed films. I have a great appreciation for Latin American and European cinema. Whenever possible, I enjoy attending film festivals in my city and prefer independent cinemas over those located in shopping malls. I particularly love Tarantino's films.

Music: I have a diverse taste in music, ranging from MPB (Brazilian Popular Music) and bossa nova to blues, soul, pop, and a bit of rock and indie. Some of the artists I enjoy include Adriana Calcanhotto, Chico Buarque, Elis Regina, Clara Nunes, Cazuza, O Rappa, Natiruts, Coldplay, Adele, Amy Winehouse, Tove Lo, among others.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Em 2014, durante a Copa do Mundo no Brasil, tive a incrível experiência de viajar por 38 dias, de carona e sem dinheiro, de São Paulo a Fortaleza. Foi a primeira vez que me aventurei dessa forma e foi realmente incrível.

Além disso, tive a oportunidade de conhecer praias de nudismo no Brasil, o que também foi uma experiência maravilhosa. Até o momento, tive a sorte de visitar três delas: Tambaba, na Paraíba; Abricó, no Rio de Janeiro, e Olho-de-Boi, em Búzios.

In 2014, during the World Cup in Brazil, I traveled for 38 days from São Paulo to Fortaleza, hitchhiking and without money. It was the first experience of its kind in my life. It was incredible.

Visiting nudist beaches in Brazil has also been wonderful experiences. So far, I have been to three: Tambaba in Paraíba, Abricó in Rio, and Olho-de-Boi in Búzios.

Teach, Learn, Share

O Couchsurfing não é o Airbnb. Tanto os anfitriões que oferecem hospedagem quanto os viajantes que procuram um lugar para ficar precisam levar isso em consideração. Alguém está abrindo gratuitamente as portas de sua casa para um desconhecido, não oferecendo um serviço, mas sim buscando uma troca que vai além de simplesmente economizar dinheiro.

Não acho adequado quando alguém impõe uma grande quantidade de regras em seu perfil, como se estivesse alugando um imóvel. Não é bem assim. No entanto, também acredito que os viajantes devem ter sensibilidade suficiente para entender que estão se hospedando na casa de alguém, não em um hotel. Coisas simples como tentar ser organizado, limpar o que sujar ou ajudar com a limpeza são o básico. Se o anfitrião se oferecer para preparar o café da manhã, almoço ou jantar, seria interessante que o hóspede lavasse a louça como forma de agradecimento por essa gentileza. É uma questão de bom senso.

Como o Couchsurfing é uma plataforma baseada em referências, considero o uso dessa ferramenta indispensável. Afinal, as referências são a única maneira de obtermos uma ideia prévia de como a pessoa é. Acho rude ser hospedado por alguém e não deixar uma referência para essa pessoa. E vice-versa.

Levando em consideração a questão da confiança no site, só adiciono como amigo aqueles que já conheci pessoalmente, seja por meio de encontros (meetings) ou por meio de trocas de hospedagem.

Couchsurfing is not Airbnb. Both hosts and guests need to take that into consideration. Someone will be opening their doors for free to a stranger, not offering a service, but it's not just a way to save money; it's an exchange that goes far beyond that.

I don't think it's nice when someone imposes a bunch of rules on their profile, as if they were renting out a property. It's not quite like that. But I also believe that the traveler should have a certain sensitivity to understand that they will be staying in someone's home, not in a hotel. Simple things like trying to be organized, cleaning up after oneself, or helping with the cleaning are basic. If the host offers to prepare breakfast, lunch, or dinner, it would be nice for the guest to wash the dishes as a way to show gratitude for that kindness. It's a matter of common sense.

Since Couchsurfing is a platform based on references, I find the use of this tool indispensable. After all, references are the only possibility to know in advance what that person is like. I see it as rude to be hosted by someone and not leave a reference for them. And vice versa.

Taking into consideration the issue of trust on the site, I only add as friends those whom I have already met in person, either through meetings or through hosting exchanges.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Acredito que o que posso oferecer de mais importante aos meus anfitriões é a minha amizade. Além disso, adoro compartilhar momentos, histórias e conversas. Gosto de ouvir o que a outra pessoa tem a dizer e fazê-la se sentir importante.

Procuro ser sempre uma pessoa organizada e limpa, e tento não atrapalhar a vida de quem me hospeda. Posso ajudar na limpeza da casa e na cozinha também. : )

I believe that the most important thing I can offer to my hosts is my friendship. Additionally, I enjoy sharing moments, stories, and conversations. I love listening to what the other person has to say and making them feel important.

I strive to be an organized and clean person, and I try not to disrupt the lives of those who host me. I can also help with cleaning the house and in the kitchen. : )
