Hi! My name is Mykel. I was born and raised in San Francisco. I studied creative writing and Chinese in school. I love plants, making things with my hands, learning, and discussing life's big questions.

I work in special education these days, and in the past I've been an outdoor educator/survival skills teacher. I really love my job-- I have lots of interest in the psychology of development, learning, and teaching. I also love kids and their wild creativity!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I am looking for ways to connect with other people, build international community connect to the land. I'd also love to have opportunities to practice Chinese. :)

I'd love to practice my Chinese with you, and I'm also ready to help with your English if you'd like!

I like making things-- I've tried my hand at knitting, whittling, and embroidery. I've woven baskets and chain maille. I'd love to learn any craft you know, or teach you one I know!

What I Can Share with Hosts

I edit writing sometimes, so I can help out by checking a written project for spelling, grammar, or structure. I would also be happy to cook you a meal or clean up around the house.
