About Me
CURRENT MISSION
My current mission in life is to live it. Too often people do what they should and not what want. I plan on reversing that adage and explore the world, learn about new cultures, taste new food, and most importantly meet new people.
ABOUT ME
I'm a very loyal and dedicated individual, who honestly likes to listen and have a genuine conversation. I tend to be more of the laid back variety. I'm always eager to meet new people and try new things, especially if it involves the outdoors.
PHILOSOPHY
I'm a firm believer that life is too short, and we need to re-prioritize our goals. There are too many places to see, too much food to try, and too many people to meet to be comfortable with being stagnant. I've met more people than not so regret their lives. All saying similar things, "I wish I did what I wanted and not what others said I should." I'm still trying to stay true to this philosophy today.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I am eager to share experiences and knowledge with other individuals thirsty for culture and exploration. I do this with the hope of broadening other people's and my perspective and encouraging the "pass it forward" mentality.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I have only hosted couchsurfers until recently, and each surfer has brought something unique. All of them have been extremely positive and memorable. One surfer helped enlighten me on my perspective on emotions and destiny, another was kind enough to share all the journeys she had been on, and every one of them was able to help build my desire for travel. I loved hearing about where each person was from and what their experiences were.
Interests
Being from the northwest where trails are prevalent, mountains are close by, and the ocean being no more than a hour and a half drive away; I like to think I'm an outdoors type of person. I love to go hiking, biking, trail running, and when possible paintballing.
On the flip side however, there are days where staying in watching movies/TV, sitting at a restaurant/cafe while conversing, or playing board games sound just as good.

Music, Movies, and Books
I am pretty diverse when it comes to all types of entertainment. It all depends on my mood; typically for music I listen to jazz (my father named me Myles after Miles Davis, the "y" instead of an "i" is another story though) to classical when I'm feeling relaxed or studious. Typically I'll listen to alternative or alternative rock music though. In the end I have a wide range of music and I am open to all types.
Movies and TV shows fall in the same realm, I am interested in most genres: comedy, fiction, murder mystery, and even romantic comedies at times.
Books tend to fall under fiction, murder mystery, or certain biographies. One of my favorite books that motivates me to get off my butt is called, Born to Run. A close friend recommended it to me and it always inspires me to go out and explore.
A favorite movie of mine is called The Way. This movie helped give me a push to travel.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Travel, each experience is something new and memorable in form or another.
Teach, Learn, Share
Being open minded can be one of your biggest attributes to learning more about the world and those that inhabit it.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I love to have a good conversation on anything from travel to philosophy. I can bring my open mindedness, cleanliness, and thoughtfulness. I love to hear new stories from others and to learn as much as I can about the history and culture of the places that I visit.
