ABOUT ME

I'm usually the "loud friend" but can be horribly shy when meeting for the first time. I <3 creative things and people. Biscuits and gravy is my favorite breakfast food. I may live in the middle of Kansas but Kansas City will always have my heart. I have two degrees because I loved college that much. I value both my job and the people I work with. When I was in high school I decided that one day I would be more famous than Bob Dole so people in Russell would have something else to talk about.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

While this particular brand of Couchsurfing is new to me I have had lots of experience via friends, family, and strangers. I was a girl scout for a lot of years and we were always up for "roughin' it" somewhere, which holds true even today.

Interests

Theater is a big influence in my life. We have a community theater here and I love being involved in the shows. My work schedule now doesn't afford me much time to be as involved as I was in the past but I still manage to find ways to help out.

I've also gotten deeply into making jewelry. My sister-in-law even lets me sell it at her shop on Main Street!

Music, Movies, and Books

I love movies that are a little off kilter and I don't watch too many "chick flicks". My roommate, on the other hand, will gladly watch a really good tear jerker.

I was a band geek in high school so my tastes are somewhat varied. Classical? Check. Alternative? Check. Weird Al and Paul & Storm? Double Check.

I've been reading a lot of Science Fiction lately. Really enjoying Neil Gaiman, Wil Wheaton, and of course Douglas Adams.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I see amazing things every day. From the kindness of a stranger to the ability of our community to come together in a time of need I'm amazed by human nature and try to stop and appreciate it when I see it.
