About Me
I'm a French guy living in Taiwan. I've been in TW for about 2 years and half now.
I've studied a couple of years in Ireland and in France. I moved to Taiwan about 2 and half years ago.
Generally speaking, I'm a very curious person. I'm always looking for new adventures, or new plans.
I don't like to settle too much. Not as in you shouldn't take your time or chill when you want to, but more like looking for new adventures and new projects, having a journey in mind.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I try to stay away from tours and overly touristic places/attractions. I like meeting fellow travelers, locals, and getting "inside tips" when I travel. Also, I often travel alone - not always by choice... - and I find CS good for socializing ^^
Most people I've met on Couchsurfing are more or less like-minded and have interesting experiences or opinions to share; it's nice for cultural exchanges I think. So here's another reason.
Music, Movies, and Books
Music... I listen all kinds of things. From sounds from the 60s to the latest top40. It really depends on my mood more than it is a matter of taste. I'm always down for expanding the mp3 library, so if you have nice suggestions for me, that's more than welcomed ;)
Movies... I like things a little bit more realistic or down to earth than the typical Hollywood action movies. Movies with a cultural or historical root. I really dig mafia movies and comedies as well.
I watch a lot shows as well. Things like Mad Men, The Office, HIMYM, Better Call Saul, ... The list is too long, seriously!
Books... I'm not reading much anymore. That's kind of shame, I know. Except travel books maybe :D
My all times favorite are "Papillon" and "Banco", from Henri Charrière. It's sort of is a biography and if you like travels and adventures, with a little pinch of crimes, I highly recommend it!
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
This is so pretentious... :D
Teach, Learn, Share
Teach...
Sadly, I couldn't teach you French in a few days... But I can teach you how to read menus and order from the restaurant! I've done that for a couple of friends and the end result seemed good enough as they didn't starve there.
If you travel to France, one or two hours is all you'll need to learn how to decode menus and order in French, "the French way". ;)
Learn...
There's no restrictions there :)
Share...
Time? Experiences? Sharing is a "multiple person process" so that's also for you to decide ;)
Also, if there's anything I could help with, well, just let me know and I'll do my best.
What I Can Share with Hosts
Well, if you host me and you pass by Taiwan - or France when I'm there, but there's not many chances - I'll be thrilled to return the favor and host you, or take you around.
On my first two years in Taiwan, I've spent most of my weekends driving around and hiking. I drove by scooter all around the island multiple times, looking for secret spots and off the beaten track places.
If we meet up in Taiwan, I could bring you to places even most locals don't know ;)
