ABOUT ME

I love foreign languages, other cultures, interesting people (in fact, people are usually interesting!) and anything to do with travelling. I come from Holland, but have studied and worked in Austria, Belgium and England, and have made many trips within Europe (and two to Tunisia and Morocco). Because I am a teacher, I get a lot of time off ;) so I make the most of it.

PHILOSOPHY

1. Do not cry because it is over. Smile because it happened.
2. God is too big to fit into one religion.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I know one of the best ways to travel and getting to know the country is to hang out with local people. So by offering travellers a couch in one of the most international cities of Holland, I hope to make their holidays more memorable :)

I have a lot of positive hosting experiences, and have also done quite a bit of couchsurfing myself in the past few summers, which was great!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I saved my sister from drowning in the sea, even though the current was too strong for me. It was impossible. It was a miracle :)

Teach, Learn, Share

I can play the piano and a little bit of guitar. I can do some poi-spinning, and I can teach English and intercultural communication. I also know how to make sushi, and I love making my own necklaces and bracelets.
