About Me
Hi!
I'm Yousry, a Greek-Egyptian who calls Alexandria, Egypt home. I am very chill, open-minded, kind, easy going, and I love to leave a good impression. I became independent from my family at 15 and I turned 18 abroad after I got a scholarship to travel the world while getting my bachelor's of Science at Minerva University (San Francisco, CA, US). In the last 4 years, I lived every 4 months in a different city around the world (San Francisco, New Jersey, Seoul, Berlin, Philadelphia, Buenos Aires, Hyderabad, Boston, Taipei, and London). I traveled to a lot more cities and countries on the 5 continents.
I recently settled in Boston to start my PhD in Bioinformatics and Genomics, during which I aim to develop computational tools to help advance genomic and precision medicine that is inclusive to all ethnic groups and helps us early diagnose and treat diseases like Alzheimer's and Cancer.
In my downtime, I enjoy music, walking, conversations, nature, outdoors, hiking, swimming and water activities, animals, cultures, languages, meeting new people, adventures, and traveling. They also say I am a good chef! I can cook for you the best Middeteranean food and dishes from the countries I have lived in!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Now that I finally settled down in one city, I would like to start hosting travelers just like I have been hosted by great hosts! Please HMU if you're planning to travel to Boston!
I love to get to know new people from different backgrounds and cultures. I feel like each person adds to my experience and knowledge. I enjoy and value a good conversation about culture, language, experiences, knowledge, life stories, or anything else!
