My name is Myra, I'm a 24 year old illustrator from the Netherlands. I graduated art shool and have been working for an employment agency ever since, like everybody warned me would happen. I am starting a new studies in physiotherapy next year which I'm very excited about. I live in Gorinchem, which is a small town in the centre of the Netherlands, in a small apartment close to the station.
I thrive in summer and less so in winter, love good food, art, illustration and animals. I don't eat meat but I do eat fish and I like to work out at home, go swimming and do yoga.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I love to travel, years ago a friend took me couch surfing to spent the night close to the festival we were attending that weekend and I've been wanting to do more of it ever since. I hope to soon be able to receive guests as well.

If you're reading this I'm on a one month trip through Europa to explore shibari/kinbaku (japanese rope bondage), It has been my greatest passion for one and a half year by now and basically my part time job. I will be in Berlin for EURIX (bondage festival) from march 11 till 17, Budapest from March 18 till 23, Barcelona from March 24 till 27, 27 till the 1st of April I'll be close to Malaga attending Bora (vegan/yoga/bondage retreat and then April 1st and then Paris until April 9th to visit Place des Cordes and follow a shibari workshop by Hajime Kinoko there.

I would love to meet up, have coffee, visit museums, and discuss or do ropes with people. Especially in Budapest and Paris I have some time to kill.

Interests

I have been studying shibari/kinbaku for one and a half year, mostly in Rotterdam at Ellipsis, where I'm part of the organisation and co-host workshops and events.

Rope has become my greatest love over the past year. I am completely fascinated by what it does to my body and the bodies of others in my hands. I love the different ways it literally and figuratively ties me to people and enjoy the different dynamics it brings, ranging from playful and friendly to sexual, romantic or tender. It has helped me get to know myself and my body in new ways and both have become stronger in it. I found strength in vulnerability and now there’s no way back.

That and my polyamory probably is the most interesting about me. But then I can also get super enthusiastic about coffee, vegetarian/vegan food and anything art (especially illustration) related. I love people with passion for anything and love trying stuff. Maybe we can go to a yoga or martial arts class together or you can show me what you like.
