Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I've had some wonderful experiences of couchsurfing in Europe and hope to continue the good time streak.

I'm not keen on adhering to the beaten track, so I love the concept of Couchsurfing because it allows you to see a city through the eyes of those who live there rather than from the vantage point of a tourist.

I've been living in Dublin for the past eighteen months & currently work in theatre. I hope to pursue postgraduate performance studies in September, so I'm saving to pay for that at the moment.

Interests

I listen to most music, though I once threw up at the mention of a Metallica cover band. I watch everything except Soccer AM and shows about storage space. I enjoy cycling, writing, swimming, coffee/tea drinking, traveling, reading, hanging out with animals & dancing at any time of the day.

I've been vegan for the past three years & am slowly but surely becoming a respectable self- sufficient chef.

I love going to see live shows- anything from jazz to comedy to circus to techno gigs sound good to me. I admire David Attenborough, Charlie Brooker, Louise Theroux and Tom Murphy. I think the Rubberbandits are unsung geniuses of our generation and no Earthly man or woman will ever be more approachable than Bill Murray.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

In 2014, I took part in a nationwide competition between four universities to raise money for Amnesty International. In pairs, we had 36 hours to travel as far as we could without any money, relying only on the kindness of strangers to help us along, raising money for charity by busking along the way. My team mate and I traveled across four countries, eventually ending up in Geneva, Switzerland.

Last Christmas, en route to Connemara, my friends & I stopped beside a lake to take in the nightscape. It was dark & freezing, but the sky was clear & flooded with stars. The view reminded me to not only appreciate the beauty of unfamiliar landscapes abroad, but also to appreciate my gorgeous backyard as well.

I can offer my eagerness to listen, learn, discuss & converse about all things theatre + whatever you're pasionate about. I also make a mean cup of tea :)
