About Me

Hello to every visitor of this profile! :)
My name is Míša [read maybe as Mi: ʃa] (or Michaela, Michelle, or whatever you want to call me :)) I live in Hukvaldy, a small village in Moravian-Silesian Region in the Czech republic, the place famous for the 3rd biggest castle in this country and as a birthplace of music composer Leos Janacek. I am a Ph. D. candidate in Art History at Palacky University in Olomouc, Czech Republic, specializing in Moravian and Silesian late Baroque sculpture.
I live in a big house with my family and my pets (4 cats and 2 large dogs). All around our house are forest hills and meadows, I love every season of the year, every kind of weather, every being of this planet. I am vegetarian (99,9 % almost vegan), nature protector, volunteer, possitive and open-minded. I care what I eat, drink, wear, breathe, what cosmetics I use and buy, everything for saving our planet.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

As a child I had a huge hobby to lie in maps, brochures of travel agencies, travel magazines etc., collect postcards from all around the world and plan my future adventures. I have ten big notebooks full of press cutting about travelling and amazing places. Now, as an adult, I would like to follow my childish dreams, so may be this is the reason, why I am here on Couchsurfing. And, of course, I would like to meet new people, enjoy local atmosphere and learn something new.

Music, Movies, and Books

Actually, these - music, movies and books - are my big hobbies too. I grew up in a small village named Hukvaldy, a place where one of the famous music composers of 1st half of the 20th century Leos Janacek was born, so since my childhood I love classical music (old and modern too), everything with the melody that grabs my heart and soul... But deep inside I am a metalhead, who loves rock and metal music (alternative rock, metalcore, melodic death metal, progressive metal, mathcore etc.)
I saw thousands of films and I like czech old classics, fairy tales, fantasies, everything about history, movies about finding a sense of life, films which I need to use my brain (or heart) with. My the most favourite is Le Fabuleux destin d'Amélie Poulain (2001). I love Hajao Mijazaki's cartoons, Tim Burton's fantasies, the world of Peter Jaskson's Tolkien-tales etc.
And books, I am trying to read always when I have a little bit of time. I have a long list of books which influenced me the most, e.g. Le petit prince of Antoine de Saint-Exupéry or Paulo Coelho's The Alchemist. But I have a big library of books about art, czech baroque culture, history, sculpture, architecture and painting etc. too :)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I stopped worrying, I fear less, follow my dreams and enjoy every moment of my life. I don't know, if this is amazing for you, but for me this is the most...

Teach, Learn, Share

I would like to improve my English or any other language skills, meet new people and their culture, habits,
I can offer my guest trips around Beskydy mountains or visit in our castle (ruins of the third largest castle in the Czech republic) with my knowledge of its history, we can visit our local microbrewery and have some glasses of really good local beer :) Our village Hukvaldy is situated near bigger town, so we can use a car and visit some clubs or bars there if necessary. We have a big library, some books are (almost about art) are in English, so you I can borrow.
