About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Be as open minded as possible.
ABOUT ME
If I could describe myself, I would say that I'm a beauty seeker. I love new experiences, and I've made it my goal to take every opportunity the opens up. I enjoy spontaneity and I'm pretty laid back. I used to be a piano major and have a passion for all things music related- I also play the uke, penny whistle (thanks to a couch surfer friend) and harmonica... and I am loving it. I love traveling and being completely immersed in the culture and geography of a place. If you want to know more about me, you'll just have to surf my couch or host me :)
PHILOSOPHY
Be honest, kind, and open to things.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Traveling and hosting couch surfers are both amazing.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I can't endorse couchsurfing enough. I have been so lucky to meet amazing people who are connected to their communities and their environment. So far I have only been to Portland and Denver, but I anticipate there is more to come. Besides hosting/surfing, I love going to the couch surfing meets and events when I can.

Music, Movies, and Books
When it comes to music, I enjoy a wide variety. My faves at the moment are Pink Floyd, Radiohead, Kalai, Jason Mraz, Simon and Garfunkel, Dream Theater, Iron and Wine, Rachmaninoff, and the Swell Season. I also hosted a couple who were in a band that I really enjoyed, There is no Mountain.
Sidenote... did you know that Anthony Hopkins is a composer? Mention it in your request for bonus points!
Movies- Amelie, Garden State, Inception, The Scarlet Pimpernel, Lord of the Rings (the extended versions, of course...) and Avatar.
As far as books go- man alive, how could I choose? I love reading anything and everything I can get my greedly little eyes on. Trying to get through Time's 100 Best Novels, but it's a slow and steady process.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I've been on a hot air balloon.
I Couch Surfed in Portland and got to walk around for a few days, taking in the city.
Danced to some african beats at the Boulder, Colorado outdoor mall with Amy.
I've been to Alaska to fish with my dad and a bunch of old men.
I've been swimming with dolphins.
I love live performances of any kind- I've been to all kinds of different concerts/operas/symphonies... I crave them!
Hanging out in Bangkok and seeing some of the most beautiful places on earth.
I had ICL surgery in February 2013, and I now have contacts implanted in my eye. I can now see 20/15!!
Life is amazing, everything that happens is amazing in some way.
Teach, Learn, Share
CS has taught me that it's okay to take a chance. It's also taught me that it's okay to be me, and to be real. I've met a lot of interesting people through couch surfing and cherish all of the friendships I have made.
