ABOUT ME

I find writing about myself to be almost unbearable, which is a little funny since I can talk about myself for hours =P .. so here I go ..

I'm 28, raised in Sydney and born in Auckland to Pakistani parents. I think I'€™m pretty open-minded, I absolutely hate it when people generalize and categorize, I like to see people as individuals, and.. Basically see the bright side to everything (well most things =D)... why spend your life being shitty right? =P

I love travelling, ever since my first backpacking trip, it'€™s all I've wanted to do, and my life revolves around it. I've been to about 28 countries all up, and its not about getting the numbers up, I just like to visit as many countries as I can, because i know i'€™ll love them all , and so far .. I have, I don't have a favourite place, they'€™re all amazing, full of beautiful/unique people.

I don€™t use guidebooks, I see the€™ir appeal, but I rather just ask someone on the street, and if I get lost, then whatever, its all part of the experience right? even though I must admit, I've been utilizing google maps quite alot lately. =P

I'll eat almost anything, but I don™t drink or smoke.

I'€™m a bit of a health freak. I might be in a city for only a few days, but somehow, I'll still find a gym and get my workouts in.

I really do believe that we can do anything we set our minds too, as long as we believe its important and we prioritize it as such.

But I'd have to say, I just want to further increase my understanding of the world, I don't want to live in a box, I don't want to base my judgments on what I see on tv or read in a book, I want to see and experience, then come to my own conclusions.

I have never actually used couch-surfing, but only heard praises from mates and fellow travellers. :)

Intereses

Travelling, Fitness training, history and a bit of politics/current events, and coffee! Love coffee. And cake!

I believe knowledge is infinite, and there's usually more than two sides to every story, so I do what I can to read between the lines, while keeping an open mind.

Erykah Badu (LOVE), Jill scott, mos def, lupe fiasco, MICHEAL JACKSON!!, the roots, coldplay, foo fighters, don't mind abit of trance, instrumentals, i'll listen to anything aye, but I love soul music/hip-hop (not gangster rap though) ..

City of god, children of men, forest gump, i love heaps of movies, can't list them all =) ..

I don't read novels, though I do read Chomsky, in the middle of Edward Said - Orientalism at the moment ..

Algo increíble que he hecho

The beauty of Sumatra and Northern Pakistan were amazing, two places I LOVE. The Himalayas of Northern Pakistan, the isolation, local people, it's just .. overwhelming.

I love both these places, but I love every place I've visited, but I guess standing over 30,000 feet above sea level was special.

Common sense, it's all you need. If it's too good to be true, than it probably is. You just have to remember that no matter where you are, most people are generally good.
