About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Make friends with the world

ABOUT ME

【Be myself】
A Chinese who loves its culture, history, and art, literature, and music.
I grew up in Luoyang, an ancient city with a history of 5000 years. It is less modern but more "Chinese" and traditional. Influenced since very young, I learnt Chinese Calligraphy and Chinese traditional music instrument at the age of 8-9 years old. In Couchsurfing world, I want to be a ‘true’ Chinese that can represent my nation, which I'm proud of and you will find interesting.

【Open to the world】
Open my heart to learn and appreciate every culture, no matter from which nation, religion or skin color.

Open my mind to share other people's stories, thoughts, ideas. Maybe "I disapprove of what you say, but I will defend to the death your right to say it”. Actually most time I can get a lot from other's words.

Open my life to travel. Inspired by too many people and stories, I start off this summer. It's just a beginning, but it finally starts.

【Personality】
动如脱兔,静若处子。
Sometimes outgoing, full of energy, dynamic and talkative.
Sometimes just stay alone and keep quite.

刚柔并济,厚积薄发。
Appearance is as gentle as a lamb,
Deep inside lives a strong man.

PHILOSOPHY

I went to the woods because I wished to live deliberately, to front only the essential facts of life, and see if I could not learn what it had to teach, and not, when I came to die, discover that I had not lived.
By Henry David Thoreau

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

In 2010, I joined a Sunday meeting at Nancy's place. She and Brent told me about Couchsurfing. At first I hung out with them and their Couchsurfers then began to host and meet Couchsurfers by myself. Now my surfing starts in US!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Most of them are perfect.

Expect Two Bad Experiences:

*In New York, the host accepted me at first. The moment I was going to their place, they just refused me with only one word: long story. No apology, no further help. So I had to find another couch immediately.

*In Ithaca, my laptop and small packbag was stolen in my host home. A nightmare.
