The guide book and concierge have always been deeply overrated. And let's be real, the world is an increasingly, prohibitively expensive place to move about in. I'm here for the same reasons now as when I joined this site in 2007: to meet and be met by people, to give and receive unwrappable gifts, to generally make the most out of my brief time on this spinning ball of juice in the sky before kicking the cosmic bucket, and to do so without lining the pockets of rich hoteliers and hospitality corporations.
