ABOUT ME
I Um, hmm. Sometimes, I'm chipper, bright and optimistic, and sometimes I'm a perky cynic, sometimes I show people my dark side. Sometimes I'm all party and out going and sometimes I'm quiet and shy. I stop and smell the flowers, and I'll stop and listen when someone needs it.
I love working for non-profits because it's really important to me to create the world I wish I lived. It's inspiring to me to see change and progress for things that I value.
I love learning about people on an individual level, about culture and community, and ecology of different environments, including edible and medicinal plants.
I'm on a pretty constant path of self-discovery, and I try to pay attention to my strengths and challenges. I'm pretty aware of how my own perceptions lead me to feel in different situations without blaming others. I like to hang out, talk and drink beer. Tequilas my favorite liquor.
PHILOSOPHY
-For the meaning of life differs from man to man, from day to day and from hour to hour. What matters, therefore, is not the meaning of life in general but rather the specific meaning of a person's life at a given moment.-Frankl
-Eat mangos naked- SARK
-The most important thing to travel with is a sense of humor -unknown
-He who has a why to live for can bear almost any how - Nietzsche
-I don't fit in your f***'n box -Margaret Cho
-People like you and I, though mortal of course like everyone else, do not grow old no matter how long we live...[We] never cease to stand like curious children before the great mystery into which we were born. -Einstein
-Everything can be taken from a man but one thing: the last of human freedoms - to choose one's attitude in any given set of circumstances. -Frankl
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I surf. I host. I refer good people to the website :)
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I've used Couch Surfing to find people to stay with while I was traveling in NZ, Japan and Mexico and it was great to get a home for a minute. I've had lots of people couch surf at my places, through the website and independently of the website. I keep in touch with many of them.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I've been apart of many amazing experiences...I've attended Native American sweat lodge ceremonies and talking circles, seen an iceberg (I'm from the desert), learned from amazing teachers about women healers, shamanic healing, ecology, environmental education, made presentations about living with urban wildlife, hiked along a volcano, lived on a raw foods farm, ate a variety of raw meats and seafood.
One of my favorite experiences, though, was my introduction to the group of Maori healers I would spend the next 4 months with....it was a debauchers party of singing, guitar, beer and laughter. They said if I could make it through that night, I could learn healing methods with them.
