Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Instead of traveling a whole country and staying for a short time at different places, I prefer to get to know one place in depth.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
My first couch surfing experience was in Paris.I felt a bit uneasy in the beginning, but the host was an experienced cs-host, so she got me pretty quick at ease. Although I've been a lot of times to Paris, this time was special: she really showed us around and i've discovered places i wouldn't have found on my own. That's what its all about, I know!
When traveling a year in Australia, I loved to sleep in a real bed once in a while, instead of sleeping in our van, and to meet local people instead of just passing through. Great hosts in the town of 1770 and in Gordonvale, near Cairns!
Interests
Interested in people and their stories.
I love reading, listening to music or dancing. I like to go to bars, concerts and theatres but not the big shows.
Completely in love with stars, the ones at the sky though. Love festivals. And poetry. And second hand things. And new people, or old friends. Prefer radio to television and a hand written letter to mail.
Practicing sports instead of watching it, love being outdoors.
And I love coffee. a lot and everyday! Just as chocolate.

Music, Movies, and Books
Music: i love music a lot and although I am a radiohost I am very very bad at remembering band names.
But ok, here we go, a selection from A to Z ( and yes, i'm using my itunes list now :-) ): Air, Carla Bruni, Catpower, Donavan Frankenreiter, Eddie Vedder, Florence and the machine, Goldfrapp, Hooverphonic, I blame Coco, Jack Johnson, Kavinsky, Lanterns on the lake, Morcheeba, Norah Jones, Of monsters and men, Portishead, Rebekka Karijord, Shivaree, Tracy Chapman, Unkle, Vive la fete, Wilco, the XX, Zero 7
I love almost any style: from bluegrass/folky stuff over triphop, a bit indie to more electronic to dance to as well. No metal or punk though.
Books: A Norwegian friend recommended Shantaram by Gregory David Roberts, another one gave me Lessons in Love by Alain De Boton and I've been blown away by Bariccos "Mr Gwyn". My favourite author is Belgian writer Peter Verhelst, so that's what I'll recommend you.
Movies: Bin Jip: just no words....
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
it is small and happened nearby: walking in the rain, in Antwerp, at nighttime. Knowing every place to shelter: I felt home, warm and welcome.
Teach, Learn, Share
I've just started beekeeping in the city: if you wanna know something about that, I'm happy to tell you.
if you're interested in the political situation of the tiny country of Belgium, i'm happy to explain. Well, i'll try to :-)
I love languages: so keen to learn a few words of yours
