Hi everybody,

I'm Nancy, 34 years old, living in Cologne. where I'm currently working as a letter carrier to save enough money for my work and travel in Canada, which starts September. The starting point will be Vancouver and I'm super excited about it!
I studied drama in Hanover, worked at theater and also as freelancer. So my passion is art and culture. I'm going to volunteer at the Vancouver Film Festival and I'm looking forward to see canadian movies.
I also like music, dancing, reading, cooking, yoga, climbing, good talks. I'm organised, responibly and clean. I love old stuff from the last decades like typewrites and walkmans.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I've surfed couches since 2012 in England, Italy, Israel and Palestine. I love the cultural exchange and to get in touch with locals with their unique knowledge of the city/surrounding. I've always found it inpiring to listen to their stories.

Interests

I like sport, especially yoga and climbing, but I'm a newbe in climbing. Music is always in my head and I started practicing guitar playing again. I love to go to museums of modern art. I'm interested in history although most of it is very sad, but it's alway helpful for me to understand the present.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music: Since I've been to Cambridge 2012 I love the voice of Nina Simone and to dance to her music. I discovered Fado in Lisbon and Dabke in Palestine. I really addicted to live jazz/ blues gigs with a dancing crowd. Also 60s til 80s like Doors, Velvet Underground, Led Zeppelin, Joy Division, Smiths, Oasis.. and many more. Currently my favorite band is Band of Horses. These guys making me crazy these days! I really wanna go to the Winnipeg Folk Festival 2025 :)

movies: I love Arthouse, especially movies of Wim Wenders and Jim Jarmusch.

books: my favorite book is Max, Mischa and Tetoffensiven by Johan Harstad, All about love by bell hooks
