I am cool with nice & friendly people, but don't overestimate it.:)

My name is Sergei, i am staying in Asia (at first Taiwan since September , 2008).
For this long term I used to be a student at NCTU(Hsinchu, Taiwan), working in Taipei & HK, right now living and working in HongKong & Guangzhou (sometimes Taiwan as well, that's why very friendly to any Taiwanese human been, they kind of changed my life).

As for my latest position, I am a Regional Manager for Great China, it means that i am working & traveling around China & areas belongs to Great China, including HongKong, Macau & Taiwan. That's why time to time, it's bit hard to guess on where I am & it's a bit complicated to book a place with me, but whenever I am at home I am down to meet new people & whenever I am traveling I am down to explore new places with whomever I meeting on my path:)

It's my pleasure to meet interesting people in Asia, a lot of tourist going through/visiting Asia/China in recent years & during this time i have met quite a lot of interesting people & we all had lots of fun chilling around Taiwan, Guangzhou, Hong Kong...

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I am an open minded friendly person and that's why i am here.
During this years, I used to be in a lot of good&bad situations in Asia, that's why in most of the cases i understand that people need a help & i believe that one day i will need a help from someone as well:)

Couchsurfing it's a great network of people that are willing to help each other under different conditions & in different situations. Since now I am living in Taipei & Guangzhou i have a chance to help anyone who might consider & will need a person as me to help at any time available for me.

Read my profile first though & accept my request to stay when I really need, cuz I am always trying to host people, but when I am really need that some one host me over, they are always our of the city or hosting someone else already:)

Interests

I like to hang out with people, study languages & have an interesting chats about other places & countries i haven't visited yet.
I love travel, but since travel need to have free time & big pocket, i can't afford to travel for a long time, that's why currently trying to maximize my working time & minimize my cost to have a great outcome in the future.
In recent years, I am considering to work & live in Japan & South America, but before that I got to get into the school to get my GMBA ready, life tough folks, that's why we have to take things seriously...

Music, Movies, and Books

I used to work for an alcohol company as a sales associate & got to the point where smoke like an "accountant without leaving his office:)" up to 2 packs of cigarette / day.
One of the biggest influence on me made 3 different things that I've changed this horrible habit:
- I realized : I was waking up everyone morning & felt that I hate this habit & really hated to have morning cigarettes while you felt uncomfortable (but i still smoked, horrible bwweee)...
- Story/
My previous boss, used to smoke for 30 years & still quit this horrible habit & get out of "cigarette jail" & I felt that If I won't I am gonna get there as well, but after 30 years...?- Did I want it? - NO , I DIDN'T.
- Allen Carr "EASY WAY TO QUIT SMOKE", reading out this book, I've understood how stupid I was & at what jail did i put myself, up to now I feel like this book has to get a "Green Peas award" & that guy must got a "NOBLE AWARD", cuz he's really saved hundred thousands people life, that are living happy without smoking.

This book is definitely bestseller!

As for the music, I do love a lot of songs.
Some of them from the Russian Pop-music, some from American old school & etc.
Can't stop to listen them...
"Hotel California", "California dreamin", "Самый Лучшый день" & others;)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

- I did graduated form NCTU back then:)
- Quit smoking (definitely no regrets & never missed this habit since then)
- Traveled around USA (San Francisco - Florida)
- Traveled around Europe (Moscow, Russia - through more than 20 countries up to Portugal)
- Took a train from Beijing, China to Lhasa, Tibet SAR China (i guess that's pretty hardcore one, 2 days in a train)
- Travel to all the islands in Taiwan, not only main one, but to the all that belongs to Taiwan ( you got to explore if you don't know all of them)
- There are much more things I am planing to do in my life...waiting & excited about it:)

Teach, Learn, Share

I would like to learn Spanish & Japanese languages, I am very excited to host guys from Japan & other Spanish speaking countries & also hang out with them:)

I am always excited to share my experience & knowledge with friends that are interesting & hopefully someone will use it & share it with other people, that's the way how we become smarter & wiser about mistakes that we shouldn't even consider to do or avoid situations that are not pleasant...
